usmc  | |  today is my fiances official last day of being in the United States Marne Corp. we (my children and I) are so happy that we don't have to worry about him being called to go to war. we have a 2 year old, a 7 year old and a 2 month old. it feels like a huge weight lifted from our shoulders. i couldn't imagine him not being here, worrying if he's ok every second of every day. i honestly feel for military wives, children, parents, etc...i am so grateful that he didn't have to go fight. i admire our military personnel and at the same time i hate our government for sending us to war, where we don't belong. i can't wait until our troops are home, safe, where they belong. i know that i am against the war and so are many of the people in the military that i know. how do you feel about the war? do we belong there?

 camomom (3539) | 1 year ago | you are right... they are better off without Saddam. unfortunately he had so many followers that are still there making things horrible for everyone there. i don't believe they will ever have peace there because of that. we cannot stay forever...we can't solve their problems for them...if they don't do it themselves it won't matter how much help we give. i am very proud of being an American but i also feel for the people around the world that don't have our freedoms. i admire our military for fighting for us and for fighting for other people/countries that CAN'T do it for themselves. our government from my understanding is the best but they still make mistakes. | |

| delladidit (326) | 1 year ago |  ...It is a touchy subject. Some people will not respond because they fear getting their rating knocked down. I posted my opinion about 9-11 and one jerk spent an evening posting negative remarks to several of my posts and gave negative feed back. My rating was knocked down the next morning by a couple of points. It only takes one person not liking what you have said. It takes a long time to come back from an attack like that.
...It isn't always worth responding. I feel what our military is doing for us is worth far more than whatever my number is here. It is greatly important to me that you know I appreciate and pray for you, your husband and all of the other military and their family. It maybe the only thing I can give of any value and meaning.
...However, shortly after 9-11, I started making little beaded angels and giving them away to veterans, police, firefighters and anyone else who wanted them. I call them 9-11 prayer angels. I keep a couple in my car to give away all the time.
