I received my first payment from ChaCha this afternoon!  | |  I'm so happy to be able to say I've finally been paid by ChaCha! I have been waiting for over a month and a half to get my button, but I was finally able to manually confirm my bank account today. It's really great! I requested a payment as soon as I got my button activated, and the money was in my bank account less than five minutes later!
I think it wouldn't have taken so long if First IB hadn't lost my fax when I sent the additional information they requested. It was almost two weeks later before I thought to call them. Once I did and sent my documents again, it took less than a week to open my account. So I'd really recommend that any Guides who are having problems double check with FIB to make sure that they received the signature card or additional documentation, especially if it's more than a week or two since it was sent.
Everyone I talked to at FIB was so nice. I don't know why some Guides say they're rude. Maybe the rep was just having a bad day when they called? I'm also glad to see that ChaCha has decided to eliminate the wait time for Guides who choose the pay me now thingie. Instead of having to wait until they confirm it, we can enter our own account numbers now. Totally spiffy, and it can cut 2-3 weeks off of the processing time!

I've never head of it. Is it some kind of PTC? That's what I've been reading in the forums since this morning and I think it's getting to me haha So what is it? Does it cost you anything? What does it do for you? Do you earn through it?

It's a human powered search engine available in the US. People looking for answers can text them to 242242 (ChaCha) and receive an answer back by SMS. They can also call 1-800-2-ChaCha and ask a question that way. ChaCha has Voice Guides (transcribers) who convert the voice calls to text and send them on to SMS Guides to be answered.
Im an SMS guide, so my job is to take a question that is asked, search the internet for an answer, format it to fit in a standard SMS message, and send it back to the person who asked the question. It was totally free to join, but it's only available for people in the US because they require employment verifications and such. Right now, I'm not a Top Guide, so I make ten cents for every question that I answer. Once I have a good week where I answer 200 or more questions with 95% accuracy or better, I'll be back to making 20 cents for each search.
It might not sound like a lot, but I earned almost $140 in a week or so. I'm hoping I'll be able to use it to help me move into a new place soon. It's really exciting. I wasn't expecting it to work as well as it does for me! | |

They lost your fax papers? Wow im just waiting for them to get back to me about mine. Thanks for that. I'm defiantly going to call them tomorrow. I want the money. lol. The guy i talked to on the phone was pretty nice. but they gave my boyfriend a really hard time when he was trying to set up his account. So i guess it just depends on what person you get. Thanks!!
