I haven't been actively Guiding because of the issues I had with setting up my pay me now stuff. Most of it was actually my fault, because I didn't think to confirm with them that they'd received additional documentation when I sent it to them. So it took a couple weeks longer than it should have for me to get my account with First IB opened.
I probably should have kept Guiding, but it's hard to be motivated when you're getting 10 cents a question and don't know for sure if they'll pay you. Now that I've gotten paid, I logged back in to start working again... and ChaCha's added the checkbox for setting your status to away after the question you're on!
I'm not sure when that went into effect. I've been keeping up with the Guide blog (or so I thought...) and I don't remember seeing it mentioned there or on the forums. It's really great! No more struggling to set yourself to away before another question comes in! :D
Anyone else totally thrilled about this addition to the universe?

And now that there's an away button, and I don't have to kill my browser to get out of answering questions as they pop up, I just might have to go and do it!

summoneddestiny (291) | 1 year ago | FIB is notoriously BAD. When I sent in my extra information, they LOST the fax. I had no idea until I called them to check on the status of it. They didn't confirm receiving the info when I resent it. I finally had to call them AGAIN to find out what the status of it was (about a week and a half later). They told me that it had been approved, but they had NO idea when my account would be set up. Then I got an email a couple hours later telling me it was set up, activated, and I could log in.
I would NEVER recommend them to anyone but a ChaCha Guide. It's convenient getting paid instantly, but getting the stupid account set up with FIB was a horrible ordeal for me. My referral's STILL waiting to hear back from them about her account, and she applied at least a month and a half ago. Like I told her, don't be afraid to call them and ask what the heck they're doing.

guss2000 (1055) | 1 year ago | I would seriously call them too. I was only a week waiting on my account and luckily did not have any issues. I called them one week after faxing my info and the lady told me it takes 5-7 BUSINESS days. However, about an hour that I got off of the phone, I had an email with all of my account info. I really think that if I would not have called them, my account would have not have been opened that day and it would have been pushed to the side for days longer. They are pretty pleasant on the phone too.

3. guss2000 (1055) | 1 year ago | Alls I know is that I've been there since the end of September'ish and it's been there. LOL i can't imagine that button NOT being there. OMG! That would drive me in sane to not be able to get away from the questions when I need to. I wish they would make a button that you can log in "away" mode so that as soon as you log on you are not hit with questions. Good luck there, I love it!

summoneddestiny (291) | 1 year ago | I do wish that they would give us that option, especially since they have modified the Universe so much lately. It's hard to add new categories and interests when questions start popping up.
I really love the new option the Specialist queries have-you can elect to not take them. I declined a couple when it was first active. The first one, I was planning to leave my computer and didn't log out fast enough. The other one was one I knew I couldn't answer without taking a lot of time (it was a really complicated math problem involving tangents or something like that), so I declined it hoping that a more qualified Guide could take it and help the InfoSeeker get a correct answer. ^_^;
If I don't want to start answering questions immediately, and I don't need to update my interests, I just log onto the Underground interface instead. Unless you log into the Universe directly, you won't get queries.
