Whos the best classic rock band?

There are so many different genres and styles to consider but for me, when you consider albums released, live performance ability and sheer talent and diversity in music over their career it would have to be Queen! They have managed to span generations with their music and there are very few people that would not know or like at least ONE of their songs!

I beg to disagree. GnR is NOT even classic rock. They were formed in the 80s. Classic rock is Late 60s to Late 70s. If you talk about classic rock, you talk about the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Queen, Deep Purple, The Who, CCR, AC/DC and Pink Floyd, to name just a few. You can throw in the Eagles or Lynrd Skynyrd in that bunch and other Southern Rock bands. But surely you cannot call Guns N Roses classic rock. Sheesh. Before GnR, there was Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden. Now that is the real old school as far as the evolution of hard rock is concerned.

I don't think there's a best classic rock band. You could probably say the Beatles were the most influential band of all time. But "best" is a relative term, and each of the bands I mentioned are great in their own time.
