Did you ever try to stay up on Christmas just so you could see Santa Claus?

Wow! Only 5 years old? That is young, do you think you missed out on a few years of not knowing about santa? I don't think I was told till I was 8 or 9 and I remember the first thing I asked was, well what happened to all those mince pies and carrots I left out? Poor mum had to do the dirty deed because dad was too chicken to tell me! It's not like you can say I wish you hadnt told me that because you can't undone what's already been said! I think the sparkle goes when you find out there is no santa but even as an adult I still love Christmas! Thank you for sharing your santa story, I enjoyed reading it!

What do you mean there is no Santa Claus?!?! I still believe in Santa, at least the magic of the jolly ole man. There has always been something that has happened at Christmas that kept me 'believing'. There has always been surprises that were a little hard to explain. And, yes, I always tried to stay awake to see Santa, but I never could keep my eyes open that long. And we still hang our stockings and Santa still comes by, and my girls, now grown, still hang their stockings. After having kids of my own, I found out one of the magical things about Santa.... the twinkle in their eyes waking us up on Christmas morning to tell us 'Santa came!'.

no, i never tried to. i dont know why. at my age, i still want to believe that there is a Santa Claus somewhere. funny, i want to see a real Santa Claus, but deep in side me, i know i'd never meet him. maybe its because deep inside this matured mind, the little girl is still there hoping..:)

When i was young i really intrigue about santa claus,. im very curious who really is. My mum told me to put socks on the window coz at 12 midnight santa will be coming to give some candies and sweets and presents. So as a curious little mind. I pretend to sleep then i peeped from the blanket. Then guess what who i've seen? Yes, that was my mom and dad.Mum and dad was the santa claus!

When were still kids, and its nearing Christmas, me and my little sister will make a letter to Santa asking what kind of gift we want to receive. My mom tells us she will then mail the letters but would actually give them to my dad. And we will just wake up with the gifts under the Christmas tree with our name tags on it. I can't seem to remember what age we found out that its our parents who buys the gifts for us and that they're the real Santa Claus but we didn't tried to peek to find out the truth.

Santa Claus is really popular to kids. I think everyone and there is no exception, used to believe that Santa Claus would come down from the chimney or enter the window and put gifts into every kid's Christmas stockings. Though it is no true, it is kinda fun believing thats the scenario every Christmas eve. And in our family, we always tell every kid that's how it is.

Yup I remember actually trying not to go to mass just to see Santa Claus (that would be usually the time they would sneak in the gifts) For me even though I know that there is no real Santa Claus on a reindeer. I still believe that he exists in everyone of us who believes that Christmas should be fun and about giving.

I was around 8 or 9 when I found out that there was no Santa. Mom and dad both told me, and of course, me being me said "Well who had the Mince Pie and carrot then?" because every year, my dad actually knew how to bite into the carrot enough to leave teeth marks that somehow (to my young mind) looked just like reindeer teeth marks lol.

As much as I know that there's no Santa, I still love Christmas. There's just a sort of magic in the air, and everyone is in good spirits. It's even better if it snows. I don't like Christmas without snow lol

I used to try not to stay up as I was always scared that if I was awake when Santa arrived, he wouldn't leave anything. But, by trying to go to sleep when you're excited tended to have the opposite effect and meant that I wouldn't sleep. I must have dozed off eventually as every Christmas morning, there were presents left for me but I never heard anybody leaving them. That was apart from one year when I heard my mum walking about the upstairs landing (we had creaking floorboards) which woke me. I noticed that the stocking that was usually hung on my door handle had gone and said to mum that somebody had stolen it. It didn't click for a few more years that it had actually been taken by her!

You're clever, aren't you? Well, I never believed in Santa since that wasn't in our culture (I come from Indo) and we didn't get gifts on Christmas, either. So for us, Christmas means going to a X-mas sermon and watching the X-mas play and singing X-mas songs. That's all.
