Do you get anxiety panic attacks? |
|
If so, do you take something for them, or just try to live through them? I have been getting alot of them lately. I can hardly breathe and my heart races and I feel dizzy all in all just icky. What systoms do you get? I am on ativan it helps but not like the antidepressant did. I had to go off that due to bad side effects. I just ordered SEREDYN online I should be getting it today, its for anxiety and panic attacks and is not addicting. So are you on anything or do you just live with them?

1. narayan2006 (1057) | 1 year ago | Dear friend,it is really sad that you get so much of depression and anxiety in your life and depend too much on anti depressants. In fact,I have never experienced any kind of feeling of depression and worries;I am highly resilent and resistant to all kind of situations,no matter how painful it may be. I always stay positive and confident in dealing with all problems and crisis.I live a life of peace, happiness and divine bliss. I maintain a good health and a balanced mind. All of my positive feelings and welbeing are the result of my habit of regular meditation, which gives me the required energy and inner strength to effectively deal with all aspects of life. Thanks.

3. reinydawn (4194) | 1 year ago | Apparently, the doctors have decided that my breathing issues are stress related. I've been very short of breath and sometimes feel like I can't even breathe. There's no medical reason for it - they've run tons of tests. I added a supplement to my diet that is for stress - it has St Johns Wart in it along with other natural stuff - and it put me to sleep. Things in my life are a bit different so it's gone away for the most part. It did start up again last weekend when I went to PA for a memorial service.

4. metschica25 (4800) | 1 year ago | Hi Diane, When I was in high school that is when I started to get them and it was all the time . Got real bad my senior year, and they had to put me on paxil, and that took a good 5 weeks for me to start to feel better and be able to move on with my life . I was on my meds for around 3 years and would only get them once in a blue moon . Then, my insurance ran out and i had no choice but to get off of them . It was bad at first and then i was okay . they came back and for awhile i stayed in and didnt face anything that scared me . that sucked and i put on so much weight . then one day i went on a diet and felt so much better that, i started to go out and about again, and i faced so much . Now I only get them sometimes, but i can work thru them for the most part . that scared feeling is so hard . i think it depends on the person, but meds do help, and sometimes it takes trying many to find one that helps . i know how they feel and sorry you go thru all that!

5. cwilson26 (1610) | 1 year ago | I have been suffering from panic attacks for years now. I have social anxiety disorder and Bi polar disorder. The social anxiety keeps me from going out in public. I only go when I have to and cannot even handle family events. I am on meds but I still have problems with going to family events. I feel like people are judging me, even my own family, and I start to have a panic attack. I had one so bad one time that I had to go to the hospital because I couldn't breath and thought I was dying. It sucks. I am on Seroquel, Zoloft, and Klonipin and they help some but not like I wish they would. I do have less panic attacks but am still afraid to go out in public very often.

6. dookie03 (680) | 1 year ago | Actually i have gotten multiple panic attachks in the past by stressing myself out with school and work. Especially work. I actually hid in the bathroom at my work one time and cried for at least 4 or 5 minutes just by the tress at my work and the BS i took from my boss that day because he was a jerk. Shortly after he got fired because he wasn't a good people manager at all and things were better but when you take a boss you have that just yells at you all the time it gets very stressful and you shouldn't have to put up with that.

7. marlena18042 (351) | 1 year ago | Hi Dianel. I have suffered form anxiety and panic disorder since I was 12 years old. They will happen randomly. I get them less frequently now and they are much easier to deal with.Try some of these techniques that I use. They were taught to me by my doctor.: 1.)Practice slow breathing. Take deep breathes of air in through your nose, out through your mouth. When you do this it will decrease your heart rate. 2.)Get your mind off the attack.Try to get focused onto something else, maybe even t.v. or a conversation. 3.)Repeat to yourself that it is only a panic attack, you have had them before and you are still alive and kicking, it wont last forever. The more you are calm and use coping skills the calmer you'll be and therefore the attack will not be as bad, possibly even preventable.I f you know what it is that is bringing on the attack, stay away from that if possible. Sometimes they are brought on by absolutely nothing, as are mine. But, since I've used the above steps, I avoid having attacks, and if I dont avoid them altogether, they are very easy to deal with. Did you know that the actual panic attack lasts only a few minutes? It's all the symptoms that it creates that you feel for longer than that! I hope this helped a little! Happy Mylotting!

8. jfilips (234) | 1 year ago | I get anxiety once in a while when I think too much about it. I know what are the situations that get me anxiety attacks and when I feel I am falling into one of those "situations" all the symptomps just start to kick in. Its very annoying, I start to sweat, my heart beat skyrockets ( I guess I can feel it xD), I run out of breathe and I need to take deep sighs, my mind goes blank, and many other things... It's just a pain in the butt. But meh, I guess we, the ones that suffer from it, just need to deal with it. Take some medicine to help it or some therapy xD, maybe I'll try the second choice one of this days. I've heard they work=).

9. Uroborus (791) | 1 year ago | I used to get panic attacks about 10 years ago. They lasted for about 3 or 5 years before I learned to get rid of them without taking any drugs. At the time that I got them I was going through a very stressful time in my life. I was also drinking coffee and tended to eat too many foods with processed sugar. The first thing I did that helped a great deal was to notice that the panic attacks would come shortly after I drank my coffee. I researched this a bit and found that stimulants like caffeine can trigger panic attacks. It was difficult to do, but after I gave up coffee things improved a lot. Later I learned to greatly reduce the sugar in my diet, and finally, I made time everyday to make sure I relaxed, and tried to also remove some sources of great stress in my life. It took 4 years of effort, but I haven't had a panic attack in 6 years (and they used to be strong ones), and I didn't have to use any drugs.
