Has anyone heard of this company?

My husband and I have been looking for debt consolidation companies to help us get out of debt and build our credit back up. My husband found one online and had a long phone conversation with them asking questions and such. The company is called Specialized Funding and I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and they are not a member like they told my husband they were. They are only going to charge us $60 a month to help us get out of debt and re-build our credit. We want to do this because we cannot get a loan and we need one to get our home fixed up and our property fixed up. Even though they are not a member of the BBB, they have only had a few complaints against them and none of them had to do with money. So has anyone heard of them and if so are they legit? I am going to do more research before we decide to do anything. I am looking them up on Ripoffreport.com now. Anyone want to recommend any other debt consolidation companies that are legit and in good standing with the BBB? Anyone have any recommendations for companies that have helped you and are good companies? Please share your thoughts. :)

Daughter and I wanted to try that once! never again they wanted to charge a great amount and I could see no way they would get out us out of debt that way. So we canceled them and found another way. I think most of them are rip offsand hardly ever help anyone but thier selfs.

Well like I told the first two responses above, they are way too eager to "help" us get out of debt. They have been calling non-stop every day. They call early in the morning, all throughout the day, and late at night. Good thing we have caller ID and an answering machine. I think they seem to me a little too eager to help us. They want to charge us $60 a month for 32 to 40 months and then we will be supposedly debt free. I think we could do it a little faster than that on our own or find a good bank to help us. Thanks for your response and for letting me know your experience in this. :)

sure sounds like all they want is money and think of one bill you could put that $60 too enough of them kind of payments would get you out of debt by your selves and not be in debt to any one! Put that extra $60 they want to the princible on house note or Insurance or credit card!

Don't do it. There is nothing that a debt counseling company can do for you that you cannot do for yourself. All they will do is charge you a fee. A fee that you could put the money for towards debt payoff. Right now, if you have anything less than perfect credit, you won't get a loan. The debt solutions companies cannot get you a loan. The only thing that will fix your credit is paying down your debt. You can do that yourself. Exercise restraint. Don't spend more on your credit cards and pay down your debt. Pick a card, pay it off. Then move on to paying off the next one. Keep up the payments. That is all a debt solution company will tell you to do.

Thanks for your response. I have to agree and I am glad I started this discussion. They have been calling non-stop since my husband had a long talk with them. They call late at night, in the middle of the day, and early in the morning. Seems to me they are a little bit too eager to "help" us. After we saw that they were not a member of the BBB and had some complaints, we started thinking skeptically. So we will just have to do it on our own. I work full time online and I can always pick up more freelance writing jobs and my husband is looking for a better job so I am sure we can get out of debt ourselves. It will take a little while longer but it will work out better and at least we won't get ripped off. Thank you. :)
