Vets waiting room... |
| |
| Waiting in the vets I do wonder about the lack of intelligence some people display. First there was the father and daughter. Now the daughter was obviously dog phobic so why take her into a vet's waiting room. Every time a dog came in she starting whimpering and fidgeting (way to act like a prey animal, kid...) and was obviously distressed. A guy came in with a Neopolitan Mastiff puppy which was quite big but very well behaved but this kid just got worse and her father acted like it was okay. I did wonder about calling Social Services but became too engrossed fussing the puppy. Another was a young woman with a pet rabbit in a carrier - so far so good - but she put it down facing outwards so the rabbit could see and be seen by every dog in the place. Cue, distressed rabbit and excited dogs. When the nurse suggested she turn the carrier so the rabbit was shielded she acted very put out. I wonder if there's a note on her records saying she's an idiot... What is your vet's waiting room like? | | | | | |

| | Oh man what idiots. The only vet we used when we had our dogs would completely separate people and animal types out if needed to keep the peace. The staff was very fast to act too and the receptionist knew immediately what animals needed to be moved and when, often before the owners even got there. I can't imagine having to sit in a waiting room as a kid who is terrified off the animals around her. What would have happened if the dogs were a bit more primitive than they were? They might have treated her like the bait she was, not to mention the rabbit. They might want to stick the dad in a lion cage and see how he likes the feeling. | | | | | | |

| | I've never seen my vet's office very crowded and everyone is well-behaved. Never seen any kids there, either, as I'm usually there during school hours. There are less idiots here than anyplace else I've ever lived, I'm very surprised! | | | | | | |

| | The one waiting room is pretty good. If there's a dog that's bad, then generally the owners know to wait outside. I've never seen a child there that isn't outragiously fond of animals (but since this clinic caters to multi animal household it kind of makes sense.) The other thing is that generally speaking the cliental are getting up there in age since they don't accept new clients - so the children you mostly see are the children of children of clients that got in that way - kind of like my former dentist! | | | | | | |

| | my vets waiting room is very tiny because its more of a clinic but it can be a pain when you have a big dog and two cats and then everyone piles in and my big dog is scared of little dogs but loves cats and well cats dont like her so it turns chaotic.. not to mention i only weigh like 30 lbs more than my big dog so she can drag me anywhere so if i dont have my hubby along i have to ask them to help me get her through the waiting room past all the other pets so that i wont have to wrestle with her since i swear she has ADD lol | | | | | | |

| | Sounds to me like those pet owners needed to see the vet more than the animals! I don't suffer any problems when visiting my vet. He books by appointment only, and there will be no one else in the waiting room, when it comes time for the visit. Pretty good thinking on his part, I'd say. cdrxo | | | | | | |

| | That was very funny! I haven't been to the vets for awhile.. I get to send the kids now.. (well, they're in their twenties but you know what I mean).. People can be so funny! And sometimes when they get a mindset, you just can't change it no matter how illogical. | | | | | | |

| | I guess I'm lucky. My vet has a small outreach clinic with a tiny waiting room. Their hospital is in the next town. Waiting for the vet is usually the social hour there. Friends and strangers sit and chat while waiting. People with high strung or anti-social dogs wait their turn outside. Sometimes people with skittish cats wait outside too. The smokers are also outside. We manage to work it out so that everyone is comfortable. The wonders of small town life. | | | | | | |
