Would people rather have small dogs then big dogs? At the pet store there was someone who is giving away dogs for adoption and by the time I got there the dachshunds were already gone. But there still was a big left. I don't know what kind of dog it is. So would small dogs get adopted sooner then big dogs even if it is at the pound.

probably yes. But I prefer big dogs rather than small dogs. I prefer to adopt big dogs from they were born or before they got 2years old. But, if it's a wild dog, I just adopt it right away. I feel sad for those unwanted dogs, so I want them!

I think it really depends on where you live. If you live in an apartment then small dogs are really your only option and if you live in a house with a yard then you can get a bigger dog. Ppl that live out in the country on farms tend to get large dogs for guarding purposes. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

It may be because people are living in smaller houses and have no space for large dogs. Large dogs require more maintenance than small ones. They eat more so you have to spend more on them than a small dog.

Typically , yes. Smaller dogs don't require as much space & are more likely to be able to live in a small home/appartment. Larger dogs tend to require a larger yard. Also some people are intimidated by larger dogs while smaller ones are just cute.

Large dogs require more exercise is what most people imagine. They also assume that a small dog eats less than a large dog. Most people prefer a young dog and the older dogs might wait longer to find an owner. I had to get a non moulting breed because of my allergies. I got two miniature poodles. I really love all dogs.

I suppose people who live in small confinements, (apartments, rooms, etc) would not be able to take a big dog. My sister-in-law lives in a condominium where there is a rule that dogs must weigh under 20 lbs. I have three myself, two Rottweilers and one dachshund. I've gotta tell you the dachshund requires more time and effort than the big ones!

Yeah I would think so, most people probably prefer small dogs for kids plus there easyzy to take care of
