Could you change your image? |
|
September 22, 2008 I mean really change the way people recognize you. Change your hair color, cut, style. Drop some pounds, put some on. Change your clothes, attitude, and mannerisms. I think it would be hard, because your personality is really what makes you who you are.

1. drannhh (7554) | 1 year ago | I have on occasion, but it is more work for me that it would be for some people. Sometimes I have gone to conferences one day dressed down and using technical vocabulary to ask vendors about their products and prices and then the next day playing it dumber with business attire and you would not believe how different the responses were...and the pricing!
Some women I used to know were real makeup artists and could change their appearances so dramatically in a half hour that I could hardly believe it was the same person. For me that would not be fun...too much like work.

2. Piscesmoon (2885) | 1 year ago | Sort of. I have just changed my hair colour before and had people confused. Given that I have really curly hair and am a jeans and T-shirt sort of girl who wears glasses, it is not too hard to confuse people by straightening my hair, wearing a dress, heels and contact lenses. I know what you mean about personality and mannerisms though. I went to school with identical twins. The only difference was the arrangement of their freckles. I could always tell them apart because one was really sour and the other, friendly and smiley. One day, the friendly one was upset and I mistook her for her sister. As soon as she smiled, I realised my mistake. If we REALLY didn't want people to know who we were, we would have to mask our personality in some way or change our mannerisms, which isn't an easy task.

5. frankiecesca (1215) | 1 year ago | I think overall it would be very easy to change our image if we put our mind to doing it - like you say losing weight is something that can make a huge difference but you will still be the same inside!: )

6. sang2k2 (1081) | 1 year ago | no i dont think chaging things like hair colour, or loosing weight or gaining weight, changing clothes, makes a person change thier image to the extent that one cant recognise you.as recently i had experienced this i was approached by a junior of mine a few days while i was traveling in public transport. she saw me and than she asked me r u from so n so school i was like yeh than she was like even i am from the same school and i was like which bacth she told me 2 years later to my bacth and i was like ok. i have changed evrything right from colour and many more materialistic things which one things can change the outer appearances but nothing happens..

8. ella1bella (760) | 1 year ago | As soon as I read this post it made me think of some offenders who have been in prison for heinous crimes and then come out and have to completely change their image to remain anonymous, and the lengths that they go to to change their appearance.I am sure that the most of us could have our hairstyle changed,a colour change, cut and blow dried in a different style, change the way we dress and the way we appply our make up,the shoes that we wear and though the outer person would be different the inner person would remain the same, though dramatic weightloss can often spark a big change in a persons personality,an introvert can be suddenly become quite extrovert.
