Why do the media treat famous peoples illnesses as worse?

In a paper in the UK today it had all about Jade and her cancer and how she would have to have a years worth of chemo. It makes me so mad, there are thousands of people in the Uk who are suffering from cancer as well, my mum has cancer and has months to live, it is awful and so so sad but its shoved in our faces about Jade a lot lately, don't get me wrong, I feel so so sorry for her, she is vey young but there are so many people worse then her out there, just because she has become famous she is not the only person in the UK to have this terrible illness! Has anyone got a view on this?
