I used to work for hours on end at the computer.
Sometimes, I'd sit so long, my legs would cramp or
go to sleep.

Turns out, my computer chair was cutting off the
circulation at the back of my knees.

Now, I use a big recliner for my computer chair and
my legs rarely cramp when I'm working at the computer.

Also, I try not to spend more than an hour at a time
on the computer before getting up and doing something else.

Do you sit for so long in front of the computer
that your leg or foot falls asleep or starts to hurt?

How often do you get up and move around?

Hi beautyqueen26! Is a matter of fact that the same thing happens to me every day.. I spend most of my day time in front of the computer working and more than once my legs starts to cramp.. I get up of the chair about every 2 hours because sometimes I forget about my legs and the only thing that I think about is to focus on what I'm doing...

I am always moving around.
I don't like sitting still for too long.
When I sit for too long my butt goes to sleep. I just gotta get up when that happens. Who wants a numb @$$?whistle

You'll laugh at this but my chair that I sit on in front of the computer is a hard wooden captain's chair....but I found the most comfortable way to sit in it, is.....yoga style..you know..crossed legged..LOL. But I make a habit of getting up now and then...can't stand to sit long periods of time anyway...too restless.lol

I used to do lots of yoga and was in such great shape.
Course that was pre-baby.

I could actually stand to do more yoga. I used to have a regular routine I did faithfully every day, but now I'm so busy I don't do it as much as I used to...and believe me, my body is starting to feel itsad

Yes, I have had that problem. I work at my computer all day. I try to get up and move around every couple of hours, if not more often. I also get aches in my neck and shoulders. I try to do neck and shoulder rolls. Getting up to move around helps with that, too.

I often experience bad cramp when I sit too long and that normally happens when I surf the net for hours. Sometimes during sleep I also experience a sharp cramp on my lower leg, I would just try to stand up but the pain is unbearable. I sense not only sitting down too long is the cause but the body maybe lacking nutrient or sodium. I have been cutting down salt lately.

You're right about that!
And, I've heard that potassium can help
relieve leg cramps.

I need to get up more then I do. I admit to that. I do make myself get up and walk a couple of times a day and I also get up to do house chours. I hate getting leg cramps but I know that sitting to long in one place can cause cramps.

i had cramps too after sitting too long on the chair...but it isn't my legs...it's my butt. My butt actually cramp after 4 hours of sitting on some cheap plastic chair. Nowadays, i place a soft cushion on my chair. I'll get up and move around every half an hour to relax myself.

Hello beauty queen. I also sit at my computer for a long time if I do not have to go to work during my days off, but once in a while I stand up to walk around when I feel a little tired from sitting too long. In fact, it is not good for us to sit too long before the computer without letting ourselves relaxed for some minutes. Take good care of yourself, my dear beauty queen.

I have done that. My legs get to hurting, and my knees go out of place. I did finally realize that it was from so much sitting. I try to get up every thirty minutes to an hour. I think it is scary, because I know that it can cause blood clots. Not so good.
