ouch ouch and ouch | | OUCH, i am in pain right now, i have just been in my bedroom to close the windows coz were having torrential rain, we have them old sash windows that slide up and down but the rope and wheel is missing from one of them so i keep it open with a small peg, well, i have just pulled the peg out and SLAM...right on my finger, the top of my finger is torn away from my nail i am in so much pain, it's my finger next to my pinky on my left hand, and i am in pain...it doesn't need hospital treatment but it is stinging so much, and i am able to type because i never use that finger to type, i was very lucky that i snatched away my hand when i did because it could have been worse, so have you ever had an accident at home where you have injured yourself and had to go to the hospital to get it fixed, lucily, i don't have to go, i have a small bandage on and that should be ok till the skin fuses back...OUCH OUCH OUCH.....

tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | OWWWWWWWWWWWW....the pain only kicked in when i ran water over the cut coz it was bleeding, but it's killing now, it's like when you pull a bit of skin from the finger nail pain, it could have come off completely but i pulled away before it got me for real....them windows are really heavy too (note) landlord sort the bloody windows out...oh lord, your son is lucky, my door does the same, if i open the front door, the kitchen and living room doors slam hard, we have not had any accidents yet, but there have been a few thing broken when the doors slam coz it knocks things down onto the floor, this is why i have to close the other kitchen door when i open the front door, it's dangerous, at least your son didn't lose any fingers, so that's a good thing, i am in a bit of pain at the mo..Tony said a bottle of Brandy would cure it but i haven't drank for ages so i think it would floor me if i had any now, so i think i will stick to the pain killers at the mo...maybe a (little) bottle of wine may help....
| |
scorpio19 (657) | 1 year ago | I think Tony's spot on a little bit won't hurt. These doors are a pain for slamming my son gets in a right panic now if both doors are open at the same time, which is understandable so we have to shut the middle door too, my younger son never understands why when my older one shouts to shut the doors, well he was only a baby when it happened so he won't..go get a wee bottle of wine for medicinal purposes eh?
| |
tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | oooh Scorpio...this is spooky, same desks....same kind of doors....(i hear the twilite zone tune)LOL.... ...yeah i know what you mean though, i get in a fizz when someone opens both doors at once...i have the front door, then another door going into the kitchen, then the kitchen door that goes into the living room, then the living room door, then the back door on the other side of my living room, so when one opens they all slam...i would hate it if one of the kids got slammed, these doors are as old as the house, they are solid wood, and they are loud when they slam and they could do some serious damage if anyone got trapped, it would not be pretty....
| |
| |
tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | well if he'd get off his fat bum and go get it maybe i would feel better...LOL....as for doors and windows, best to keep em shut eh...LOL...

tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | Loud it's throwing it doen here right now, the winds are up and it's freezio...i have just been out watching the tree lads cut down 2 massive trees in the garden, one ash and one sycamore, they were getting blown all over the place so i let them come in till the rain stopped, i made them a cuppa and off they went, these are the trees that brought down a 15ft brick wall in my garden, so they have to move the trees then build the wall back again, the good thing was, i got a pile of logs for free.. ..i am making a path in my garden so the logs will be perfect and they will stop me sliding down a muddy hill each time i want to go into the garden...as for my finger, it's KILLING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..... thw windows i have are them really old slide up/down sash windows, they are on a pully kind of contraption, well the rope snapped ages ago so i have to hold the window open with a wooden peg, how did you manage to fall in the garden? i bet that hurt, nothing worse than getting injured at home, i really thought i may have had to go to the hozzy, but it's not as bad as it looks...dosn't half hurt though...i remember when you lost your voice...it was ever so quiet in here....LOL...
| |
tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | the tree roots went under the wall and the whole thing came down, not good if we have little kids here, this could have been alot worse if the kids had have been by the wall, it could have been fatal....the wall goes way back than that but this is just an example...could have been much worse...plus, no more greenfly, no more tree...yaaaaaaaaaay....and i got me a veggie patch in the process...LOL...

Did you put ice on it? Ice always helps in an injury like that. Don't put it on directly, though, as you could damage the skin. Wrap it in a washcloth or something first.

I know it can really hurt.
You will think this is crazy, but I put Carmex on all my small injuries. It helps heal the injuries from the inside out.
Good luck!
| |
| |
tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | carmex? ok i will ask at the chemist for that, i have not heard of that before, but i will ask...my finger is ok today, a bit swollen, but it's not gonna fall off .LOL....
| |
ElicBxn (14974) | 1 year ago | People put Carmex on sore lips or cold sores. I use it on paper cuts, hang nails, small scrapes, any injury that will dry and spread and keep it from healing from the bottom to the top.
I even wrote the Carmex people and told them they should make some of their stuff as paper cut balm, but they said they couldn't. They did say they get lots of letters like mine tho.
