Truck Stops, C. B. Radios and Wal-Mart  

when I go to country areas I always look for the Truck Stops to eat, I was always told if you want good food go to the places you see a lot of trucks...

I drive a truck for a living, and let me tell you that is not always true. You have to remember that we are driving VERY large vehicles and cannot just park anywhere. In fact there are a lot of stores and what not that will not even allow us to park in order to shop. Truck drivers eat at truck stops because they have a "captive audience"; we really don't have a lot of choice in where to park!

It's Breyers Black Raspberry Chocolate; we got 40 half-gallons of it! Now my neighbor has 8 kids, but we're still gonna be eatin' it fer awhile...

I thought the guy had said quarts; I thought they looked like half-gallons; after looking at the cartons, they're 1.75 quarts, just shy of a half-gallon.

OK. Well, then, they're a quart-and-a-half. Even better!!!

When i lived in Calif. I had a CB radio and belonged to a CB club..we had alot of fun learning new things and doing contests..miss that alot..

I belonged to a CB club up in Seattle, the Rebel Radio Club. That was lots of fun, except for the club meetings which always were mostly arguments between members
In California, I belonged to a club called the Traitors, because we caused mischief to everyone and wouldn't join in the regular groups. I was Traitor number one because I was the biggest pain in the neck

Last year my neighbor got somewhere around 50 pounds of ribs that Wal-Mart rejected because the driver was late. The truckers need to get the trailer empty; most of them are heading to get another load and can't go home first, so they give the stuff away. The 6 cases of cookies we got a few months ago was excellent; I gotta say, I did literally eat myself sick of cookies for awhile though.

My neighbor has two side-by-side refridgerator/freezers and two chest type deep freezers.

It comes bundled in packages of eight. Some of the bundles had come undone and the Wal-Mart Distribution Center here won't accept items not properly packed.

WOW, our Wal-Mart will put damaged carp back on the shelves, trying to sneak it by some unsuspecting buyer. You can tell by seeing those stupid 'void' stickers still on them.

So what's yir handle? My stepdad drove a big rig. I can't remember his handle but mine was Lil White Dove. We used to have these walkie talkies that we could pick up the truckers with. It was cool on vacation trips.

Usually I go by Ozone but if I'm feelin" persnickity I use Goatpiss.

I used to have a nice radio with sideband and upper and lower channels and a freq counter with a 250 watt kicker on it hooked up to a ground plane antenna on a 50 foot mast (if any of that makes sense to you); that sucker would talk to Texas, California, Florida, New York, Canada...I even got someone in Jamaica with it once. Now I just got a regular old CB but it's still fun.

Are there still folks doing those HAM radios? I think it would be cool to have one of those.
