When do you put up your Christmas tree??

Ever since I was a little girl, the tradition has been to put the Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving. We get the tree out of storage, assemble it, and decorate it is a family while we listen to Christmas music. I think this part is my favorite time of the season, because it's so relaxed and happy, and the end result is beautiful. We usually take it down the day after New Year, which is sad.
I love decorating for Christmas, and eventually I want to have one of the best decorated houses on the block!

I love christmas and this year I think I'm going to need an early one so I think I'll be doing the same as you and starting in November. Usually Thanksgiving is when I like to put the tree up. It was a tradition in my family growing up that on Thanksgiving day when the family was all together we put the Christmas decorations up. If I was to do outside lights I'd have to do them now because winters in New York is no place to put up lights.

We were shopping today and saw Christmas trees on display. I think it's crazy to be thinking it this soon, or even relatively soon. We do the day after Thanksgiving as well, but we put the lights and garland on it, we always let "Santa" decorate it over night though on Christmas Eve.

This Christmas, I\ll put up my Christmas tree on the first day, it's artificial, I live in the tropics, I'll do some cleaning and dusting, then on second day, I'll get out the decorations which I have stored over the years, then on third day I'll begin to decorate the tree. Then it's up to my nephew to do the rest of the decorations then I'll put on some lights around it.
Last Christmasses, it was the same, on the first week of December. But there was one Christmas I put up the tree on the 20th because I need to buy a new tree and after December 16, Christmas trees are already 50% less:)

Ours usually goes up in the beginning of December sometime. I do not have a set day that I do it though. Just whenever I feel like doing it. It normally comes down the first week in January.

I normally by my tree no more than 2 weeks before Christmas. The last few years have been really dry so its pushing it at 2 weeks. Sometimes my yard is decorated before then, depending on when I can schedule it to be done. On the 26th the tree is out on the street for the recyclers to pick it up. I am over Christmas by that point. LOL

I know some people that Christmas is truly a season for. They start it in October or November and its constant. Not me. I usually only shop one or two days for the stuff that I didn't get online. I don't do the whole sale thing, I just go and buy what I want and get out of the madness. I love to shop but I don't like all the fuss during the holidays.
