Are you a Geek? I am. Also what qualifies a person as a geek in your mind? Historically Geek was in reference to someone with abnormal qualities such as you would see in a circus side show. Now geek has a whole new meaning. The Geek shall inherit the earth, take a look around its already happening.

I don't think that I am actually a geek. I think I am a freak. I used to consider myself a mutated accident of light, but I no longer believe it was an accident.

I'm definitely not a geek LOL. To me, a geek is someone who acts really weird. They seem to act really different than the so-called normal people. They also dress really different too. That is just an opion or my perception. to each their own though. Everyone can be whatever they want to be.

You're right about one thing... you most certainly are a geek! I don't use the word "geek" as a derogatory term. I am quite fond of geeks, and have been told I am one. I guess that means I love myself. No, I am not a computer geek, and yes, I am able to handle myself rather well in a multitude of social situations. I think what makes me a geek is my enthusiasm for certain things. I'm BIG on saving money and getting good deals. I LOVE giving goofy gifts to friends. And I ADORE decorating my house for various holidays and celebrations. According to one friend in particular, those habits and characteristics of mine are what makes me a geek. And I'm okay with that, and I certainly wouldn't change who I am because of it.

Except for the ones who talk down to us as if we were totally stupid, geeks are some of my favorite people. I can't imagine how to live without them. They charge a lot, but they're worth it because they can do things in next to no time that I could never do, even if given weeks! They understand all the little electronics I just don't get at all. My new cell phone is about 4 days old, and I still can't figure out how to turn it on. I plan to bring it to school tomorrow, and let some of the kids show me. They know all about such things. Then they'll tell me any idiot would know that, and I remind them I'm the teacher, and the gradebook's one electronic thing I can handle quite well!

LOL now we have to define the hirarchy of the socially inept: Nerd: Smart but socially inept Dork: Socially inept but not as smart Geek: Unusually knowledgeable about one or more things, often the thinks that they are unusually knowledgeable about is pointless such as comic books or a TV show or Lord of the Rings.
