Can you believe this? |

It is no wonder that some children grow up to have violent outbursts. Seems that their adult role models are sometimes the cause! I still read the news website of the town from which I recently moved away. This is horrible! I can't stand it when parents and coaches send the wrong messages at games! A junior high coach punched a referee to the ground!!! A link to the article is below. What are your thoughts about this type of behavior? Is it any wonder that some children become violent?!

3. eaforeman6 (4205) | 1 year ago | Its a shame when the people who should be teaching sportsmanship dont even know what it is? I use to see some pretty heated arguements when my kids were growing up in sports. They should give classes on sportsmanship to the adults.

crazynurse (5708) | 1 year ago | yes, perhaps anyone who wishes to coach should be required to take a course in sportsmanship! Of course, it is hard to get volunteer coaches and that might drive away volunteers.

4. JoyfulOne (4227) | 1 year ago | That is horrible behaviour for an adult! Kids see this kind of thing and would get the idea that this is an appropriate action to take to solve issues. Bad or good they learn lessons from what they see. That guy clearly has anger and boundary issues! I hope that this man gets banned from all school sports and stuff, he has no business there with an attitude like that. It's a shame that stuff goes on like this. If I were there with my kids and saw that, I would use it as a bouncing point to discuss inappropriate actions, personal boundaries, and get them to see the inhumanity of such actions. One would hope other parents would take that moment and discuss it. What IS with people these days?!!!

crazynurse (5708) | 1 year ago | Yes, it would have been one heck-of-a good teaching moment for sure! I don't know where we are headed in our children's sports, but it has gotten out of hand, that's for sure! Sportsmanship seems to be lost.
