Does anybody live in England? |
|
I know this site is american but I have not been able to find any english people on here. i have nothing against americans and i love their country but sometimes i feel my discussions are unappreciated because i am talking about different things. for example i love the new docusoap 'my family' but didnt find anyone who responded and I just wondered if its because there arent many english people on here. even if you arent from england have u ever been here? whats your favourite city? whats your favourite english food?

3. Reesers (966) | 1 year ago | I'm not a Brit but I absolutely fell in love with England when I visited last year. My mom and I spent two weeks there, visiting different places. We saw a lot but we know there's still a lot we haven't seen. Before our trip ended, we were already making a list of places to see for the next visit. I don't know when that will be but I can't wait.
We didn't try much of the food, mostly because we weren't sure what it was. LOL...but my friend got me hooked on crumpets. We have english muffins here and you know they're trying to be crumpets. It's just not the same. It took a few months but I found a place in the area that sells them and a lot of other things from England. So now I have my own crumpets!
I hope you find more people to connect with from England on here!

| kate_310 (82) | 1 year ago | What places did you go to? where were you staying? I do love crimpets they are the perfect thing to have at sunday teatime, lightly toasted with butter melted on them. they taste amazing. I love muffins too, especially if you melt cheese on them but they are so dusty they are quite messy to eat! I am glad you enjoyed your trip to England

Reesers (966) | 1 year ago | Sorry it's taken me so long to answer! I thought I had already.
We started in London for a few days, then basically did a big circle. We stayed in Cheddar, went to Wales and spent the night in Cardiff, back to England for two nights in Manchester, two nights in Lincoln, a night in Warick, two nights in Cantebury, and then back to London for the last two days.

Before getting a good list of English customers, continue your posting on general subjects. To these discussions everybody will respond to you. I'm an Indian and never been to England. But I love the country, and my favorite city is London. I'm interested in getting as much English people as friends as possible.

5. LouRhi (831) | 1 year ago | I know exactly how you feel. I am in Australia and we are few and far between though I have come across a few!
I have family in England, mostly in London but also a few out in Devon. I have not been there since I was 6 years old (which wasn't exactly yesterday) so I can not really say which city or anything I like best. I do remember the snow though. I live in a tropical part of Aus so for me the snow was a really big thing.
Good luck on your quest to find more Brits here, I am sure it will not take long:)

7. sandra966 (233) | 1 year ago | Well I'm a Brit - but I don't live there anymore.
Got fed up with the grey sky, the paedophiles and the fact that no matter how much we earned, we never had enough at the end of the month (and we had a cheap mortgage AND a very conservative approach to spending)
We used to live in the outskirts of London, and I used to work in Cranleigh - a lovely village in Surrey.
Now we live in Spain and have blue skies, sun and the beach. Bills are also cheaper here, well they were when we came over 5 years ago, my mum tells me about the utility bills getting higher in the UK, so maybe we're still doing better here.
I've visited loads of places in the south, not so many in the north of England, but I have been to Ireland and absolutely loved it - we nearly moved there instead of Spain.
I'm definitely happier in the sun.

Littlemisslizzy (100) | 12 months ago | I am sure that there are bad people and paedos in Spain as well! But I totally get the grey skies comment. I love spain and would love to holiday again there this year but I fear the exchange rate will send me off somewhere cheaper alas!

8. Littlemisslizzy (100) | 12 months ago | Hi Kate I am English and live in Manchester although I grew up in Cornwall, These sites are predominantly full of our american friends but I think that has to do with the fact that the internet is much more of a social and earning outlet in the states. My fave english food has to be fish and chips - eaten by the seaside of a sunny day (not that we get much sun lol)
