My star goes up and down and I don't care that much. I don't see where the star affects my earnings. If it did, I would care more

Hi myklj, how dare this person publically threaten you! What could he possibly be thinking?

1) I don't the think that the star system works as it gives people the ability to rate with no guidelines. Therefore is on little merit.

2) No, I am not happy with the star system because of people like this person who publically threatened you.

3) I really don't pay much attention to the whole star rating thing because I know that a lot of people don't use it for the intended purposes. And somehow have decided that disagree and negative are one in the same.

Anyway I won't hold your low star rating against you....lol

One thing that gets me when I see some discussions about stars falling are some of the responses. They are to the effect of "I'll rate you a "+" to help you get your star back". That's not the idea of it people!

I'll be honest with you and say that I don't rate each and every discussion start or response or comment that I read. I'm pretty lazy about it actually.

I think I would go along with #1. Get rid of them or do an overhaul job. I'm also kinda partial to #3...kinda crappy when people let you know that they are going to minus you just because you don't agree with them. So what? That is what mylot is all about...opinions. Would be a boring world if everyone thought the same way. Think "The Stepford Wives".

Its a bunch of hooey if you ask me. Stars are what we look up at and make wishes on, I'm not sure where the "star" came from or who thought it up but a rising star around here becomes a shooting star. Since stars are planets I guess we would could call your star part of the Mikeyway, you like that one don't you?

Dear MyLot admins. My friend here is quite correct. The stupid star system needs to be revisited and should reflect the willingness to participate in discussions and should not be participant rated.

And that is only if you insist on keeping these dumb stars.

But the abuses and threats we all know exist among those that troll, never seem to end.

There are so many good things about this site. But the star is continually proving to be as this poster has said so well,"troublesome".

And I don't care about mine either.

Honestly? I really don't care about the stars or any rating system. But, that being said I also don't care if you or anyone else discuss the issue here. Heck, it just gives me something else to post to and share my views on the "preschool" star system. Anyone who tells another member to shut up deserves to be reported. And to say he is going to ruin your reputation is rather juvenile, petty and really rather silly. I mean what is he, 12 ????

I hate to say thing being an Indian, but bloody Indians. Don't be shocked, living here for 20 years, I have grown sick of people here who are so self centered. There's this joke about Indian mentality. There are three fisherman. An American, an European And an Indian. They both ask the Indian Fisherman about the absence of covering on the can of crabs. He says that when one crab is trying to escape, the others pull him down. That's the way it is with Indians.

I have also been attacked by don't know who, and my ratings fell from 84 to 69 within a span of two hours. And after this post, I think they gonna fall further. Good of you to report such people. But I have stopped caring about it because people just rate to satisfy their egos.

I second your option about the overhaul. It's time they looked into who gave the +, - or ! and see if it really deserves that. I do care because I just do no babble about something and get done with posting. When I first got my star it was four, 36/100, and I worked really hard making some really good responses to get an 84, but then as you can see now, its down to 69. So I care because I spend time to make good quality responses. But it takes only 2 secs to hit a - or !. People should be more serious about it.

Who is this person? Why are people going after you? I really don't think it has anything to do with the star system, it's the powers that be who need to step in and do something about the trouble makers. This has gotten out of hand and I hope they do something soon. You are allowed to be you and not to be hounded by people who have nothing better to do. I hope this ends soon.

IMO it is a piece of crap. I do not need to have the approval or disapproval of unknown members of a open forum to validate me as a person. Who are these people? What makes them qualified to judge? They are not my superiors? If this was a forum based on a particular area of expertise and I was being "judged" by my peers in that subject then it may have some impact but it is not. So in other words I could care less what ranking of star I or anyone else has.
