What would be the last thing you do before sleeping?  |

I remember when I was at primary school, one of our professor used to tell us to read our lesson just before sleeping because the brain will have a tendancy to work on this last action we make. Now, after all these years I became aware she was totally right, I heard here and there the last activity of our day is very important in the process of rest of the brain. For example, falling asleep right after watching a movie wouldn't be so good because the brain will mix it with the events of the day and it will be a bit more difficult to get rest and collect itself again. I think reading or listening to the music would be a better way of falling asleep because a better exercise for it.If the brain keep going on these melodies during sleping, it would be a good way to relax and if it focus on the words we just read before falling asleep, that will be a great way of printing the informations, right? What do you think of it? Do you have other examples of a good activity for the brain just before sleeping? Would you like sharing?

It's like a reflection of what you did in your day and trust that tomorrow is another beginning of good things to come to my life. I think your teacher was such trying to give you some pointers to absorb your lessons that's why he suggested to read it. It might be because the next day is another lesson and our brain has the tendency like the "last song syndrome".. if you were reading your lessons the night before for sure it is still in your brain the next day.

Maggiepie (474) | 1 month ago | In my faith (Eastern Orthodox Catholic), prayer's not just a good idea, it's mandatory, throughout the day, in fact! ANd I ALWAYS feel better after prayer, ANY time, for those I love. But I also do other things after that, such as think about the day, & friends & family, & then I start writing stories in my head. There are some favorite things I like to think about, & I throw them into the mix, KNOWING they'll evolve into dreams. Sometimes I wonder, though, where SOME of my dreams come from. Others, I KNOW where, & still others, well...they (on RARE occasion) come TRUE. I had one shortly before 9/11 that terrified me, as it was so real, & I saw some dream-warped versions of the events of that day. But that's another post. Basically, I just rehash the best & worst points of the day, then spend time with my favorite characters in my mind until I fall asleep! Works for me! LOL! Maggiepie

2. rymebristol (198) | 1 month ago | i pray and meditate just before i go to bed..i want a relax mind and soul before i call it a day. no matter how tired and bad my day is..i always find the time to speak with my soul. if i'm having a hard time sleeping, i smoke! then go back to bed.

ANd also, if i'm watching tv b4 bed time, i will have abit of disturbance to my sleep too.. But i have no choice, as i'm a night owl.. haha So what i can do to prevent all this disruption, is to wake up very early the next day, to make myself deprived of sleep, and so by night time, regardless of what i do, i will feel very tired and be able to sleep very well.. haha

What I have noticed that if you practiced to add more words in vocabulary you need to read them again and again till you fall asleep, then it will difinitely pasted on your brain.
