tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | that's a great name for a cat isn't it...screamer...LOL...i got my kittens name from my good mylot friend Tamarafireheart, she suggested we make her the mylot mascot and call her Lottie after mylot, makes sense, right? so that's what i did, she really suits her name and she is sooooooo cheeky, it was fun filming her that morning, she was in play mode so i didn't want to disturb her, i have lots of films of her in action, running after Max my other cat, they get on so well and are so funny when they get started...thanks also for sharing your lovely vid of them 2 kittens under the door, that was so much fun to watch....

mentalward (4289) | 1 year ago | I had to butt in here because the name 'Screamer' just jumped out at me. One of my dog's pups name was Screamer, too!
She had 4 puppies and I kind of named them, temporarily, until they went to their new homes. I had 'Big Guy' because he was HUGE, 'Lilly' whom I kept, 'Larry' whom my husband named (I have NO idea where he got THAT name from!) and 'Screamer'.
I named him Screamer because he used to literally scream when he pooped! It scared me so badly I took the little fella to the vets to have him checked out. He didn't seem constipated or anything. The vet said he was fine. He was very high-strung and it probably scared him when he pooped! Strange little dog! LOL
The gal I gave him to kept the name for awhile. She worked at the vet's and, since his papers had 'Screamer' as his name, she called him that for awhile. I forgot what she changed it to, though.

2. dieorfly (472) | 1 year ago | This is so unbelievable, I have never seen anything like that before. I heard in this kind of operation they can not anesthetize patient because they need to see how he react, if he can speak and move arms and staff like that. Cuz if he would be anesthetized surgeons could miss some problems witch appears during the surgery and the patient could loose some senses. But still this was so amazing video, I do not know if I would able to undergo something like that.

4. APPCHEM (112) | 1 year ago | only a freak has guts to play this instrument while having a surgery. my blood pressure would have definitely shoot up if i was in his place. may be the surgeons kept him awake because they wanted him to be conscious during the whole surgery for some reasons. it was a really good video & thanks for sharing this valuable information.

tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | yes i have heard about people being aake during brain surgery, they need to detect the part of the brain that is obstructing, so they need to keep them awake, i think it was funny seeing this guy playing his banjo though, so original...

5. gemini_rose (10121) | 1 year ago | I am very sorry, I cannot go and look at the clip I just cannot! But I have seen similar things on tv so I have a pretty good idea. It is amazing though that people can have surgery on their brains and be conscious during the whole thing. Me personally I would rather be knocked out cold!

tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | Hi Gem, we don't get to see the gore or anything like that thank goodness, it's just him playing a banjo while having surgery, it's amazing what these doctors can do these days isn't it?

7. OreoCookie3 (18583) | 1 year ago | There are no pain receptors in the brain, and many types of brain surgeries you have to be awake with because they have to probe the brain to see which part needs fixing. The scalp is anesthetized... there is no real pain associated with brain surgery except for the healing of the skin afterward.

9. mentalward (4289) | 1 year ago | WOW! I know that there are no nerves inside the brain, but geesh! I'd be so nervous I wouldn't have even been able to HOLD that banjo, let alone PLAY it!
I'm sure he couldn't feel anything that was going on but just the thought that somebody was messing around inside my brain would be enough to make me a nervous wreck! I noticed him shaking his head sometimes when the doctor asked him a question. THAT would've scared me... moving my head even a millimeter!
But then I've heard those musicians can be a little whacky, you know? LOL
That's the first time I've ever heard of doctors allowing anything inside the operating room other than you! I'm sure they could have had another way to test the success of the procedure other than to have him play his banjo, but it sure was a unique way!

tattylashes (4295) | 1 year ago | he had this disorder that made his hands tremor, so there was part of his brain that was making that happen, so what they were doing was touching certain parts of his brain to see what was making him shake, that's why he had his banjo...it's amaxing isn't it?
