What is your family going to do this Christmas?

I am going to be on an island vacation for the Christmas holidays this year. We leave on the 15th and will be gone through New Years. I doubt I will even get half of my Christmas decorations out this year. I know I won't be putting up a full sized tree. I enjoy getting really into the holidays with decorations, entertaining, baking and all that goes along with celebrating the season. This will be very different for me.... I will still be celebrating the holiday, just island style!! Mele Kalikimaka ..... Hawaiian for Merry Christmas!

I thinks we gonna spend it together here in our house. Probably together also with our relatives. That's gonna be fun The more the merrier.

We have a big artifical tree. It is really pretty. It is a prelit one, so I don't have to mess with the lights. We put it up and then I let my kids decorate it the way they want. On Christmas Eve, my whole family (about 23 of us) all come to my house and have a nice dinner and exchange gifts. I love the Christmas season also.

We will be getting used to our new family member. My son is due right before Christmas. So we will will be staying home. I will be recooperating. And enjoying watching my daughter enter a new role of big sister.

I am eager for Christmas to get here,and each year we always get together as a family to eat and exchange gifts,on my moms side we either meet at my parents house or my uncles house,since we alternate between the two,and on my dads side we always do it here at my parents house,my mom had been talking about skipping Christmas this year because she is tired of all the fussing and fighting between family members she is still going to get the Christmas decorations out and set up the tree,and we are still going to get together,but we are not going to exchange Christmas presents this year.

I suppose it will be the typical Christmas, there will be fresh home-made cookies, a nice cut, decorated, pine tree, there will be festive gift wrappings and an apparent scent of cinnamon and sweetness. Though this Christmas will be different in regard that I will not be there, it will just be my mother and my two adult brothers, I have my own plans. Seeing that I am the baby of my siblings, 18, it will be a little different, since I really kept a lot of excitement for the celebration, without me, a bunch of adults opening presents may seem less interesting, perhaps more lonely. Over Christmas (a whole month) I will be over 4000 miles away on an island in Sweden celebrating with my boyfriend's family. I can't wait to experience their culture in all of this, it will be exciting to go to the Swedish Christmas markets, there I will find many of my family's Christmas gifts! My boyfriend and I will also be venturing to Spain for a few days, so I will be very interested to see what they have in their shops as well, and I will be able to practice my Spanish! Christmas will be so different, I can't wait! 54 days counting down, it will fly by fast, only less than two months to go.
