Ringo Starr: I've got to get fans out of my life.

Former Beatle Ringo Starr has told fans he will no longer sign autographs. Starr says he will throw away fan mail after October 20. Drummer says, with love, that he has too much to do. I saw this article and found it surprising. Other than having "too much to do" it doesn't really give a reason. What do you think about it?

Well, he can't really be saying that he's going on the beach. The media and his fans will follow him there too..
SO the reason which states that he has ' too much to do'. Just because they are fans, people expect their superstars to forgo their privacy and mingle with all the time. Signing fan mail can take a lot of time, and I think that no one should really be offended because he doesn't want to sign autographs.

Aw, respect to Ringo. He was never very 'showbizzy', and has always kept his private life to himself.
Of course he should be grateful to all his fans for getting him where he is today. He should never forget that it is his fans who have made him rich and famuous.
I can understand that it must be very annoying always to have people crowding round him for autographs, and to receive masses of fan mail wanting something in return. I can't really blame him if he does have more important things to do, and I think it is good of him to make a public announcement, so his fans are aware of this.

I think that would be silly to do. I mean why tell people about it? He could have just stopped reading it why break there hearts right off? He could hire someone to read it Or I am sure he could get a few woman or men to become his fan club readers.

I would suppose, after awhile, one would have a hard time keeping up with all the fan mail. It would seem a bit harsh to me, if I were a big fan of Ringo. Fortunately, I'm not the kind of guy to go writing fan mail so it won't affect me.
I hope you are having a good day, Ersmommy1.
