He he.. my mother-in-law's really, really excited!

Well, here in the Philippines, we do start decorating early. And yes, we also extend and we stretched out the chrismas spirit as long as we can. Mostly, it would be until middle of January. That's how long Christmas is being celebrated here.

hi sandymay.. yeah, that's more logical if you're planning to set-up something for halloween, then christmas decors would just come after.

like you, the ideal for me is first week of december too. that's the time we put up our decors.

Our family tradition is that we set-up on first week of december.

I am also not in favor of the super long celebration of the holidays. I think two weeks is just enough, a week before the Christmas and then way through the New Year. Only up to Jan. 3. But that's just me.

Hi ahgong. Since you're not from the Philippines, let me tell you how excited the Filipinos are. Well, of course not all. But just last weekend, I've been to two biggest shopping malls in Quezon City, and all the songs so would hear at the entrance of the mall are christmas songs. And to add to that, you can see christmas trees and decors all over!

Well, okay, there's a small portion, space, and area for the halloween costumes they're selling but its just that. Christmas spirit is somehow already staring to spread here in the Philippines, even if the Halloween is not yet here.

ha ha ha ha ha.... that being the case, then enjoy the early festivities then.
Here where I am, the shops usually only starts to sell festive stuff one, to two months before the actual festive date. For the bigger festivals like Christmas and Chinese new year, it is most of the time two months ahead.

To have it one full quarter ahead is very rare.
So... should I be wishing you an early christmas already?

Festivals are fun. There is so many opportunity to take pictures.
Maybe you can try taking more pictures and posting them here.
One, you can boost your earnings from those pictures.

You know what? We know now the reason why there are 10 big christmas trees in the ground floor of our building! It seems that our Building Administrator has this idea in her mind. She's showcasing the decors and all the tenants per floor has to choose a tree and a specific theme. Its like we have to order from them for our christmas decors. We cannot decorate from our own, or hire someone, like outsource to do the decors. It has to be from them! Everyone is not happy about it. But well, we have range of selections.

Just thought i will update you on this.

You can try taking pictures of them and start a thread about their progress.
It would be fun to see things like that take shape.
You can then chronicalize the transformation of the 10 dull looking trees now all the way till it becomes lighted up!
