Money saving skin care secret

For the sensitive skin on your lips and especially during the winter when they tend to get chapped I mix sugar with a little water so it makes a paste. Then I spread it on my lips. Let that sit for a minute or so and then wash that off with a warm rag. This allows the lip balm or gloss that you apply to penetrate deeper rather than just applying the same old stuff to your lips. This way you remove the dead skin cells instead of just putting stuff over it. It works and the plus side is it doesn't taste terrible.

Recently I began making my own body spray..
I especially love how the vanilla spray came out and was super surprised to find how easy it was to make..You simply mix about 24 ounces of distilled water, a little bit (maybe teaspoon) of vodka and a vanilla bean sliced open..Put all of it in a jar and allow it to sit for a few weeks giving it a shake now and then..It cost me maybe $5 to make considering I had some vodka in our home bar. I ordered 12 empty spray bottles online for under $2 and ended up with 12 two oz spray bottles of body spray!!
I am experimenting with adding different things to the mix as well, such as essential oils, citrus peels and even rose petals..

I used to buy 1 two oz bottle of vanilla body spray for $4 so I am saving a bunch making it myself and,,..its FUN!

Thats great! I didnt know about that one. Cetaphil has been recommended by dermatologists for years so you pay for that brand name.
We buy the sinus meds from Dollar General and they work for us better than Tylenol sinus. Also found out recently that Simply Sleep is basically the same ingredients as Benadryl.
Our eye dr recommended the Equate contact lens cleaner which he said is just as good as the brand name and also much cheaper.

I used to use the Wal-Mart brand Cetaphil cleanser. It's pretty good. I have since switched to Clean & Clear's Morning Burst cleanser, though. It's not very expensive, so I can afford it. I also use the Wal-Mart brand Oil of Olay moisturizer, which I like. It costs about half as much as the Oil of Olay brand and works just as well. I like to use generic products. They are often just damaged products that have been repackaged to sell as the generic brand.
