When you were little, what were you going to be when you grew up?

This is an area I am a little different to than most, I honestly didn't know what i wanted to do, I was not the cleverest kid and I honestly didn't htink I could do anything, no one told me there were options to learn, I guess I just didn't have one ounce of confidence, I hope kids of today don't ever feel this way today.

Goodness, I wanted to be so many different things when I was little. I pretty much went through the A-Z phase lmao. I was told that I could be anything I wanted to be, and I somehow decided that I wanted to be ALL of it. I couldn't watch tv without shouting "I want to be THAT when I grow up!" every 5 minutes. I still haven't totally decided what I want to be...still that kid who wants it all.:)

When I was little I always always wanted to be a teacher. I used to love "playing school" - gave all the neighborhood kids assignments and graded them too! But then when I went to college I thought I would like to be a psychologist. For some reason, by my junior year, I changed my major again to English. After graduation, I had no idea what I would do. So I went to the Univ of North Florida and took the secondary education courses I needed to be able to take the teacher's exam. I passed with flying colors and, sure enough, I taught 11th grade English for 5 years at an urban school, then I taught 9th grade American History and 12th grade World Geography for another year out in the country.

After that I burned out! I started teaching when I was 22 (my students were 16 & 17 - only a few years younger than me!) and never really got to act my age (you know your 20s are the best times of your life)- I had to act & dress older to establish myself. I loved teaching (and I coached girls' swimming & softball too) but I switched to real estate/construction (the family business) and have been there ever since!

I was going to become a veterinarian.. but I actually became a nurse instead. I sort of wish I had kept my dream alive.. but I was told in high school that it was harder to get into vet school than medical school... so I just gave up... and of course finances were a problem too.

I use to want to be a teacher when I was younger. I even taught my younger sister when we were kids. Of course she is over 6 years younger then I am. So before she started school I played like I was her teacher.

i wanted to be a teacher are a hair sytlist i finally went to collesge and got my license to do hair i was so happy i wanted to do it then i open my own salon.i wanted to do this since i was small it finally happy for me.

When I was a kid I want to be a barter girl, a Jeepney Driver, Bus Driver or a conductor in a bus. I used to arrange our dinning chair, like the position of chairs in the bus. I call my neighbor, invite her to come in my house to play. We play together with my younger brother. Sometimes we play like we our in a restaurant. My brother and I go to our neighbor's house and play. I choose to be a waitress or a cook and my brother acts always as our costumer. But of course it changed when I got much older. Now I want to be a doctor. But seems it will not happen. I'm studying computer engineering. Good Day!

I wanted to be a ballerina. I actually was brought up to be a wife and mother (but not a housekeeper) I was never going to be a teacher, but I have been. I was never going to be a nurse, but I have been a nursing assistant. I think I wanted to be a drama queen, until the real world hit me up side the head.

I wanted to be a success like my father the self-made businessman. I am a success. It's just that the definition changed over the years and my current life is nothing like the one I imagined for myself, or my parents imagined for me. However,having been married 20 years and with two kids who have both done well in sport and academic life I must be doing something right.

Well my parents wanted me to be a lawyer but I really didn't know what a lawyer does back then. As I grew up they keep on telling me to become one but actually i don't want to be one. I just wanted to be happy with my life and being a lawyer won't make me happy. I wanted to be a graphics artist honestly but that they didn't want it either, so I just took up European Languages, hoping that someday I'll go to Europe to see great artworks. Well besides being an artist I want to be a magician too, and right now i know that dream isn't that far away.
