OK, I've seen this a couple times and it really hits my funny bone. I've seen these very bland looking trucks on the road that just say SEMI EXPRESS on the sides, and on the back in smaller letters it sads Contracted by US Postal Service. Well, how named this company? The name can be taken 2 different ways...
SEMI (as in not always) EXPRESS
or
SEMI (as in 18-wheeler truck) EXPRESS
Every time I see it I think of "not always" EXPRESS. Today is the first time I notice the US Postal part and think that it's really funny now because our mail is always being delivered late or to the wrong people.
Do they have these trucks around you or is it a local thing here?

I have not seen any of those in our area and I guess it is a good thing because our normal mail delivery gets the mail delivered wrong, tore up, opened and late also. I guess the Semi Express means that they might be fast some of the time. hahahahaha

"they might be fast some of the time" --- I LOVE IT!!!!
Our mail can be so hit-or-miss too. It's very frustrating...

Hey reiny, That is kind of funny! No we don't have them, at
least not yet! But, we do have our mail being delivered
late and to the wrong addresses! I guess that's all just
part of the postal service. They only know how to keep
charging us more money for their wonderful door to door
service? I have a "regular" mailman. If it is his day off
or God forbid, his vacation! We just never know where our
mail will end up! Could be anywhere in the city! I wonder
if we will get these trucks. I kind of doubt it very much
because the city that I live in is very poor. All the money
goes to the politicians! They make very big salaries while
the city is falling apart! And it is one of the largest
cities in NYS! It is also one of the biggest one for not
knowing where the money that should be here is! So no trucks
for us!

Seems to be a common thread with the mail - very poor service. At work, we don't get the mail until aroun 4pm. That's almost time to go home, we need it way earlier than that!

I think it is a local thing. For the postal hauls from major city to smaller city, people can bid on the route. They have to have a big enough truck. I know where the one parks in our city to make the 30 mile runs back and forth with our bulk mail. It sounds as if the Semi Express company has bid on, and gotten, the contract where you are living. I would be like you, though, and play with the name. I had a hard time with the name and logo of a trucking company for a long time. The company was Dart, and it had a large diamond superimposed on the name. Due to that diamond and my kinda tricky vision, those trucks always said "Barf" because the points of the diamond intersected the D and T. Just thought I would throw that in.
