what did you want to be

When I was a kid I was in alot of dance recitals. Over time I wanted to become a dancer. As I got a little older I thought I would go to school for my degree in dance. Money problems came up and by the time I could, I got a little older and realized that even if I got my degree there is a window of opportunity in that career and after a certain age, your body can't take that as opposed to being a psychiatrist which is what I am now going to school for. I can be that as long as I want and realized that it's what I really want to do and my physical health will last much longer for this job as long as I take care of myself.

meh...my dream was always to be a soccer player...but some things never happen...i'm still in last year highschool...still play soccer...and i doubt i'm ever gonna go pro, but i've taken all sciences and maths...and am going for astronomy (NASA)
RIGHT ON!

I have wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. But, when I saw the strain and stress that the teachers had to go through, I changed my mind.. I am no longer interested in this career at all. I just have no interest in this field anymore.. When I was younger, I would play pretend school.. I would write on doors with white chalk.. I was so hung up on being a teacher.. But, now, I am bored with it..

To be a pilot. That was my wish that I could be when I was young and tender in age. When I see those planes passing on us, I wish I am a pilot and fly those air planes. And in my innocent mind, I want to ride my mom on that plane and we'll see the world together. But those were the days. And now, I can't be that pilot that I want to be. I am now preoccupied with so many things that I can't even have time for myself!

When I was a small girl I always wanted to be a postgirl.:P
But now I'm much more keen in radio.

I wanted to be a football ("soccer" for all American readers) commentator. I thought I could get in to see all the best football matches for free.
I told my son this and so when he was kicking the ball around in the garden he insisted that I commentate on his activity as if he was a professional footballer playing for a team. Aren't kids wonderful - trying to help me live out my ambition!

I wanted to become a vet as well and came to the same conclusion as you. Thinking back now maybe I should have, but I don't know if I would be able to handle animals that have been abused by humans, I might land up in jail lol!
