How Do You Keep Fresh Cut Roses Fresh?  

If you add a little 7up or an aspirin to the water it helps keep the roses nice for longer.

i really like flowers and it is my favourite and i always try to preserve them for long and take care of them whenever i bring them home. i had just got a few flowers about 15days back and i have them still fresh, the flowers really enhances the beauty of the house and it gives the fresh feeling at home. blooming flowers will always attract me and i like them whatever kind of flower it may be i like them. in spring i have many roses at our garden and i bring them sometimes and keep them in my house.
we get different flowers in the market and it will really stay for long too and i feel it is really worth bringing them home and enhace the beauty of the house and spread its fragrance at home and keep our house fresh.

I think adding 7-up or aspirin to the water keeps them fresh.

Clip them at a slant and immerse them in hot water for a few seconds. This makes it easier for them to absorb water. Do this everyday. Ask a florist about the powder you can add to the water to help keep them fresh. I get mine from the grocery store when I buy flowers there and a little goes a long way, and it really works.

You need to put very little water into a vase, or is it very much water? Hm, I forgot lol. Tulips and roses, one of those needs a lot and the other very little, now I cant remember which need what LOL

Sometimes cut flowers come with plant food that you should follow the directions on that..Plus every other day, trim about 1/8-1/4 inch off the tip at an angle under cold running water..Also keep any leaves from sitting in the water.

I'm really envious, snowqueen! I don't want to say how long it's been since I've received flowers of any kind from my hubby! I would cut the bottoms of the stems at an angle, so they will receive more water, and add a spoon full of sugar to the water you're placing the roses in. This always seems to give longer life to fresh cut flowers. Enjoy!

i have heard if you'll put an aspirin in their water they will last longer. been a long time since i got any roses. lol congraulations!

I've heard that dropping a plain asprin in the water will keep them for at least a week.

On the rare occasion that I receive flowers I always cut the stems on an angle and add some carbonated water (lemonade will do too or any fizzy drink) as this supplies the water with oxygen which the flowers still need. I usually end up throwing my flowers away well into the 3rd and sometimes 4th week.
