The man who lived downstairs from us (we live in a tw0 story house) recently (along with hid friend) kidnapped and repededly rapped a woman that was hitchhiking to get home. Instead they brought her to his apartment and kept her for over 12 hours where they repededly rapped her. Apparently she tried to escape once and the other guy grabbed her hair and punched her in the face. They are both in jail now and probably will not be getting out anytime soon so I am wondering abut his property (another thing is he has not paid rent in over 6 months) should we just bag it up and put it in our garage and let his friends/family come to get it (there is nothing much except the TV set). The other thing is the furniture is ours and my girlfriend wants to get rid of the bed and the couch because of what went on in the apartment, I am the only one bringing in any money so that it will be an additional financial burden to buy new bed and couch. Do you think that the bed and couch should be replaced. I cannot see any damage t the bed or couch. I am trying to get some people to "smudge" the place to help get rid of the bad energy but my girlfriend wants to get rid of the furniture and get now furniture. What would you do?

well even though he did a horrible crime. You still must obey the laws. find out what the law says about what to do with abandoned property. Or whatever it would be called. then do whatever it is. he is a lawbreaker but you should not be.

I don't know. Sounds freaky to me to keep the furniture. Are you the landlords to the place? What are the laws in your area regarding on who to give the things to? Maybe they will eventually write you asking you to give the items to someone.

Did anyone hear what was happening? How did the police find out what happened?shocked

We did not hear anything when it was supposed to have happened. The woman finally got free and ran down to a shopping mall (less than 1/8 of a mile from here) and someone took her to the hospital. I guess that the two guys from downstairs tried to get her back to the apartment but were unsuccessful. I do not think that the furniture should be replaced. I mean, if it had happened in a car would you replace the car if yo were still paying on it? Why not just move out of the house if it happened in here?

What a horrible thing for someone to do...I hope they are both locked up for a long, long, long time. As for the guys property, if your the landlord then I'd put it out at the curb...his family can either pick it up there or the trash men can have it. If your not the landlord then let him (the landlord) deal with it. I can see your g/f's point of view ont he couch and bed. If you loaned it out to the guy, then you obviously had more than one of each...unless you and g/f were sitting and sleeping on the floor. I'd get rid of them and wait till you have the money to get new or a secondhand set. Sometimes it's worth it to just not have the bad vibes around. Besides that, your g/f probably won't be able to use them without thinking of what went on with them.
