Nebraska decides on new "Drop Off Age"   

I am glad they have tried to do something about this
BUT I think they have gone to opposite extremes
3 day old cap is not good enough
most babies dont leave the hospital until 2 days old
post partem depression doesnt really hit full force until a week or two
I think they should have made it 3 to 6 months max

I think they could go a little older than that but I do get where they are coming from.
I saw on the news another couple was just dropped off. A woman dropped off her 17 year old daughter that had a baby.
She just couldn't deal so the 17 year old mother and baby were in foster care.
I think in Iowa it is age 4 but I could be wrong. I don't quite remember.
Maybe under 6 months.
If you are a young unwed mother by that time you should know if you can handle single motherhood or not.

Well, the fact that you can abandon a kid, be it a few days old or a few hours old, it is still not right.
Why don't they set up a group or organization that will keep the identities of these parents who do not want their kid so that they can givep up their kids legally for adoption instead?

There are so many people who wants kids but could not due to various reasons.
I am sure these organizations would be more than happy to accept these kids and put them up for adoption or something.
Rather than make it legal to abandone the kid.

These people who cannot afford to have kids, why even bother to raise one then?
