Making Good Music

I've have always said that music MUST do at least one of 2 things for me. Either it has to mean something, or the artist must enjoy performing it.
Let me explain:
I primarily listen to Country or Soft rock. I was born and raised in the country so I can relate to alot of country music. Not much of the current stuff though.
As far as the artist goes, well I do not like David Lee Roth's music, but HE loves it. I think that its impossible to listen to his music and not enjoy it, because he conveys his love for it in his music.
I have since added a new requirement: Original music. I think that 'sampling' is cheating.
Just my opinion. But if you are an aspiring musician, I would keep these 2 items in mind. Know your audience and enjoy doing it.

everyone is always going to have a different input on that but i guess look at it this way.if you are a musician your suppose to have talent at what you do.your suppose to posses a gift the average person does not.and 9/10 person with talent and gift is better then someone who is trying to do it.so compare all the artists and see who actually being creative writing then just dancing and same straight bull on records.
