Another soul music legend dies |
| |
| Four Tops base singer Levi passed away a few days ago. This is very sad. I grew up in an era where you either liked roul or soul and R&B. I loved the soul groups and singers. I know I will sound really old to some BUT....."now that was music." Four Tops, Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles are just a few. The music was so good and some of the tragedys they went through were so heartbreaking. What were some of your favorites in music if you are a baby boomer? | | | | | |

| | I am a baby boomer and my all time favorite singer of that era was and still is Elvis. He sings some fantastic blues. When Ike and Tina Turner were together, they were amazing. In the late '60's I saw them perform in St. Louis. Just an amazing experience. Aretha Franklin was also one of my favorites. One of the real blues singers who I really liked was BB King. Motown and the blues were so popular in the 60's. Those were fun days. | | | | | | |

| | Hey muscles4me. I, too, love all those old Motown singers and groups. They just don't make it like they used to, do they? I also loved Fleetwood Mac and the Beatles. When it comes to music, I could just go on and on and on. I do get excited when a "new" musician comes out and seems to have quite a bit of talent. It's rare these days, but I think it still happens. I like Alicia Keys and John Legend, although I couldn't name any of their songs. They clearly have talent like that of some of the "older" musicians. | | | | | | |

| | I was never a Beatle fan or Fleetwood Mac. I just loved all that sweet soul music. They used to call me the blue eyed soul sister in high school even though my eyes were brown. | | | |
