I think it's an excellent idea. You just never know what's out there and I think this is one way to help parents protect their children. I hope to see more states put plans like this into effect. It may not be much but it could make a big difference and help people put their mind at ease.

I think all parents should, if taking out trick or treaters, be aware of where s#x offenders live in your neighborhood. Be assured they can be there, and you may have no knowledge of it. Check it out on the web.
I am glad that there are special crews working that patrol that night...in a small way I think it should make us feel somewhat better, however, it is but a band-aid on the issue, in and of, itself.
A note to parents.... PLEASE don't dress your little girls up to look "sexy" or adult in a way that might be titillating to those with that kind of psychological make-up, as they find that attractive. Be careful about how children dress. Make it a safe Halloween.

I am a contrary person. I would figure out the law and then try to go trick or treating at all the houses of all the people who are supposed to not be participating. Then, I would report them to the police. Ha! (Of course, this only works if you, your family, and you kid have halloween costumes which hide your faces.)

I think that that is such a good idea. I am in Canada and I have never heard of anything like that here. I go with my kids at halloween so I watch them really close. But there are alot of parents that do not watch their kids. I think that it would make me feel better knowing that there has been action taken to help protect the kids. Especially on a holiday where the kids are so vulnerable.

I think that that is a good ideas as well. But does the signs help the littler ones that can't read yet? I think they should have lights off and big signs and police tape so that kids can't get close to the house.
