harry potter movies  | |  i'm really sorry guys. i know a lot of people will disagree with me, especially kids.
but i do not know. i really really do not like the way harry potter movies are made:-(
i feel that the story, what jk rowling wrote, is wasted. there are a lot of errors in the movies. the acting is not that good. but most importantly, some situations in the book are distorted. like, when hermione repaired harry's eyeglasses at the diagon alley. in the book, it was mr. weasley who repaired it using magic. how could hermione repair it when it was summertime and they were not supposed to do magic then? anyway. sigh. i watch every harry potter movie that come out because i always hoped that a good one will come.
i read somewhere, i do not know if this is true or not, but it was steven spielberg who was supposed to direct the movies and that he was going to get that kid -- joel osment (sixth sense, etc, spielberg's favorite) as harry potter. but it was said that JK Rowling declined and that she insisted on an all-brittish cast. whatever. i hope there will be a remake of the movies.
sowi, guys. just an opinion. i love harry potter and i have great great respect for JK Rowling. I hope she'll come out with another story, another character--if she cant be convinced to write more about dear harry.

They need to do that for cinematic purposes... and that they need to compress the story in a 2 hour and 30 minute movie... but i think they made the most out of it... i am still hoping that when they make a remake in the future... the movies will be more loyal to the books...

| gorgeous_g (3) | 1 year ago |  i agree. the movies do not give justice to the world created by j.k. rowling. i've always told this to my friends who ask me about the difference between the books and the movies. many of the important details in the book are left out in the films. my favorite character in the book is ron weasley but sadly, he's often portrayed as a wimp in the film especially in the prisoner of azkaban. i'm hoping that the last film will have all the important moments in the book.

I've never heard what you heard about Steven Spielberg and joel Osment but, eww, I would not have like that kid as Harry Potter. Loved him in sixth sense and second hand lions, but he would NOT have made a good Harry Potter. And Spielberg has a tendency to overdo fantasy things sometimes. For instance Hook. I do still like the movie, but you've got to admit, the whole set and special effects was way overdone and drowned out the story. I think he would have done the same thing to the Harry Potter stories.
