Do you turn off your monitor when you are away from your computer?

no. my monitor is always 24/7 .

Yes and no. Usually i don't turn it off. But if I'm downloadin something big and I will turn it off.

My computer is always almost 24/7 on, and I will never put it in hibernate, because it doesn't save that much electricity, in my opinion. But i must say that whenever I go away, then usually I start some download, or something else that can be automatically done, and I will turn off my monitor. This way I will at least save SOME energy with it!

mostly i would not like to switch off ma PC N often use hibernate system according to need. btw mostly i am sitting front of 24/7.

i dont turn off my computer..its time consuming turning it on again..and i dont like it! so i prefer turning it on ..

hibernate is not necessarily an option for me because i always keep for download.
i set the power option it automatically turns off monitor after some time ..

Every day when I leave work the computer along with the monitor goes off to save energy. I am really for the going green and any way I can do my part is okay with me. My computer at home is always off unless I need to use it. They also say to unplug any devices that are currently not being used but are plugged into the wall as that takes up energy as well.

Mines on time, and if not in use it turns itself off, so if when you return you need to sort of reboot.

But most new PC'S would have this in the normal program, its only to set it for the time you want it to kick in when you are away from the PC or not working on the PC.

i do turn it off whenever i am away, i don't do it because i think it'll save me any electricity bills or something, i just do it because i like to .its a little habbit of mine .

more over i believe everything has its live and nothing will stay forever . so the more you use your stuff the quicker it'll end .( hope you get my point here )

Me and my fiance spend most of our time on the computers doing sites like mylot to try and make money since we can not find a job right now due to the shape of the economy and the way gas prices keep shifting,so we have to make as much money online as we can,so we can get what we need,especially since right now we are saving for our wedding,and usually we will take breaks and either go watch television in our room,or in the den,or play a video game,or maybe even just lay down and cuddle,and I will leave the monitor on the desktop turned on,so that way when we come back I can take it off the screensaver and go back to whatever I was doing,but if we are not coming back to the computers,I always turn the monitor off,and log the computer off and leave it logged off until we come back to the computer room.
