1. srpkinja (354) | 1 year ago | It's amazing news! Gas is up to 99 cents here now! Which is great. And, I saw on the news that its going to go down another 4 cents by Monday. How exciting. I just hope it doesnt go up that high again. It was just too much.

2. lilybug (15422) | 1 year ago | Someone told me that this morning. Amazing isn't it? I really hope gas prices continue to go down. I got gas yesterday and it was $2.49 here. That is the lowest I have seen gas in a LONG time.

Arkie69 (1104) | 1 year ago | There is a very good reason gasoline went that high. We were willing to pay the high prices and just grumble a little and keep right on paying through the nose. OPEC has been testing us to see just how high we would go without causing them problems. I think they just found that out. I don't know about others but from now on I don't go anywhere unless it is absolutely necessary. I wish a lot more would join me. It's time these jerks learned we are not a bunch of dummies they can treat just any way they want to and get away with it.

bunnybon7 (3707) | 1 year ago | yes your both right and i think thats why we should continue to try and drill in US or come up with other solutions

Arkie69 (1104) | 1 year ago | We need to produce our own oil right here in the US. We also need to start cutting off a bunch of other imported items. You cannot import anything without giving the country at least a little control over us. All we need to import into the US is a few food items we can't grow here. That would be a very few items. All this cheap junk from China and Japan needs to stop. That alone would keep a lot of jobs here at home. And a lot of US dollars at home.

|
|
nanajanet (2668) | 1 year ago | If we do what they do, and charge them an arm and a leg to export their items to us, it will drive up their prices, making it more worthwhile to buy well-made products from our own country. Not to say that a lot of other countries, like Italy, etc., send us junk, but some countries, Taiwan, China, Japan, as you mentioned, have such cheap garbage that breaks, and in many times is dangerous, that it is not worth it.

I have noticed, even though gas prices are very low right now, all of the prices that went up due to gas rising in cost, have not gone down.

7. Arkie69 (1104) | 1 year ago | Ours here in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma was down to $2.29 yesterday. OPEC is wanting to stick it in our ear again though. Yesterday they said they were going to cut production by over a million barrels a day. Even after they said that crude oil dropped even more per barrel yesterday and they didn't expect that. Sooner or later they are going to figure out people have cut back on driving and are buying a lot less gasoline. They will have to cut the price even more trying to get consumption back up and I hope the people tell them to stuff it. One of these days these idiots are going to figure out they slapped the consumer one too many times and now the consumer is slapping back. It's time a bunch of these people that are totally convinced the consumers are stupid learn the consumer is the one that sets the price not the producer. If the consumers would stick together we could have gasoline below $1 a gal in 12 months or less. All we would have to do is start staying at home and minding our own business and keeping our teens off the streets at night.

8. arcidy (4974) | 1 year ago | Yeah gas prices have gone down a lot where I live in the past few weeks. Its only $2.79 now in some gas stations close to me. Just a few weeks ago it was over $3.50 I hope it keeps going down but I also hope that food comes down now that the oil prices are down which it hasnt yet.

bunnybon7 (3707) | 1 year ago | you would think. since the markets said food went up because of gas for delivery of products to stores.

It is certainly welcome news that gas prices are going down but I don't think that we should be complacent. More oil is being put on the market now, but it will reduce again and we are bound to see the prices increase again. Over here in the UK our prices are coming down, but we are still paying nearly $8 per US gallon!
