Favourite Stephen King Book?

Hey! i too dont have a favourite book of his but i just love all tat he writes. I simple enjoy how he weaves his story the plot, it kind of entwines you within its self! I have read most of his books, think 2 books remain fro me to hog on to!!

Most definatly The Stand. I have read it over several times over the years. Why? I just like this kid of story...mixing a bit of the apocalypse, religion, good v evil, and a redneck from East texas. What more could you want from life?

I can't pick one but I'll try to narrow it down somewhat.

The Talisman~ the idea of another world right here but on a different place is intriguing. It was well written, fast paced, good plot, characters that evoked intense emotion. The Stand~ Classic good versus evil. Long and well thought out. Excellent character driven story.
The Shining~ Ghost story and a man being driven mad by them. A great read all around.
Misery~ I especially liked the story within a story, we get the story of Misery Chastain to unfold while we are witnessing Annie's acts of cruelty and insanity.
The Dead Zone~ psychic abilities, compelling characters
Salem's Lot~ Vampires, What's not to like?
And in Night Shift, a collection of short stories, I can't remember the name of the particular story, but it was about a ex-astronaut who was invaded by an alien lifeform while on a mission in space. The alien was in the form of eyes in his fingertips and it compelled him to murder. It creeped the hell out of me.

I prefer his earlier works. His later novel have lost their spark and I find them incredibly long winded and boring.

I always enjoyed The Stand and The Long Walk (as Richard Bachman.) I also enjoyed Salem's Lot. I've enjoyed all of his books and really can't choose a favorite.

I don't love Stephen King, but I have enjoyed a few of his books. I think Pet Cemetery is my favorite.
