There is absolutely nothing that we can do to bring her home. She knows best she thinks. I was a bit happier when they changed the legal limit from 14 to 16. Because when she was 14 she was with a guy that was 22.

Geez Lisa, it must be so hard on you knowing that you can't do a thing to get her home. All you can do is keep an eye on her and see how things go, support her and don't alleinate her, so when things do go wrong, and she sees how wrong she has been she will know that you are there for her and she can come home on her own.

I can not take her back. The law also states here that she can leave at the age of 16. She had walked out of her moms at the age of 14 and the cops did not do anything. Only because we knew where she was at. They said that it would be a waste of their time.

I can understand that the ways in country are different. But here in Canada and the U.S.A. we do not APPROVE of any 16 year old marrying anyone. I am sorry but realistically looking at it there is no way that a 16 year old girl has the know how of love. We do not want to see our kids married off at a young age and just become baby factories and house wifes. We want our girls to get an education and make something for themselves, not rely on a man.

This is insane. So you're saying it's WRONG because the law says it is. But in countries where the law says it's okay, it's perfectly okay. People are people, what's it matter where they live? Either you think it's okay or you think it's not. Have you tried thinking for yourself?

Try this... what if you and your daughter were born in Goharayub's country? Would you still have a problem with your daughter being with a 30 year old?

I can understand wanting someone older and more mature but I do think that 16 is a little young to be doing this at. I am only 1 year older than my daughter's boyfriend. It is really hard to see her become a housewife when she has so much to learn and experience.

So you had your daughter when you were 15?

First of all I think that the government does need to tell people what age is appropriate because other wise adult a$$holes would be knocking up little kids then buggering off. Just because she can cook or clean does not mean that she is old enough or mature enough. And I never said that everything is going well.

I have daughters and I really have to agree with Lisa here. I remember being 16 and thinking I was far more mature than I really was. I also remember looking at hot older guys and oh...what I wouldn't have given if they paid attention to me. Most did not but I did at 16 date and have a very involved relationship with a 22 yr old man. I was deeply, madly in love with him. He was my world. Unfortunately, he just liked younger girls and got one of my friends pregnant. I was crushed. I was not emotionally ready at 16 to handle that and thankfully, I was not the one to get pregnant out of the deal. It is very rare that a respectful man of 30 would even glance twice at a 16 year old. Yes...there are rare instances where because of circumstances the 16 yr old is mature beyond her years and it could work. it's rare. Most men are looking at these girls because as you said....they are "hot". As a parent...I don't like it.
