What Do You Miss?

It seems like there are times in our lives we are always so quick to rush through. For example, we’re so anxious to move out of the house and start living on our own, making our own decisions, having no one to answer to. But, once we’re actually out in the world doing all these things, we miss having no rent, no responsibilities, no decisions to make.

I always tell kids when they fight going to sleep at night or naps during the day, that they are sure going to miss the days when they could got 10 hours of sleep a night or had nothing else to do other than take a 2pm nap! A daily Siesta sure would be nice!!

What time periods or events in your life did you wish you could skip or rush through that you now miss? Did you just hate being single and dating but now miss those days of freedom; even just the newness of your relationship with your current spouse or partner?

Did you wish when your kids were potty training that they’d just get it over with already but now you would love for your PITA teenager to be three again? Hee

I don't know what I miss the most. Maybe school days without much responsibility and freedom.
Yes, single life was very good and much different when I was very young.
It sounds like those days are gone.....and I miss all days from my school years....
It was such fun to be young and restless.... happy

Yup, it was me on the snowy one I had been using the last week, too. I have recently downloaded a trial version of photoshop so I've been having fun playing around. Hee I wouldn't show my face just bare on my avatar, but I don't mind if it's "doctored". LOL

I wanted to rush through my childhood years so I could be just like my mum and
get married and have kids.
Wrong move there HUH, I now wish I had of taken things slowly and enjoyed life first.

If I do ever get married and have kids, the one thing I will know for sure is that I didn't miss out on anything. Although, I think I'd have been happy to settle in with a family and missed out on some of the single stuff.

It wasn't the being single part I missed, I was far too young. You know the song "Too young to be married" Well that was me.

Your video stirred the memories.. the good ones, I mean.. my little girl over all the years from zip to now,a woman strong and brave and good and a mother. MY time with her has been such a pleasure, such a special being..So mature for her years she always was.. so caring and intelligent and thoughtful.. How can a child be like this?

Yes, I know! I lived it and I loved it.

I wish I could just give her a hug right now..and my little grandson too.

I think I will call her this weekend.

Did you really like the song? I wondered what you'd think about it. I can't imagine country music has a big market in Sweden. LOL Lyrics speak to me, and I often get thinking about things deeply after I have listened to a certain song. Awww, yes, call her and talk and reminisce. I bet you'll have a great time! "How can a child be like this?" Because she has you for a dad!

Thankyou for your kind words, faith. I DO wish I were more like HER though.

BUT I wanted to say that YES, although contry and western isn’t my ALL and everything since I love so any different kinds of music..there si NO absolute favourite really.
BUT.. there is a soulfullness and reality in country music and it is easier to understand sometimes. We DO have it here and I have had my share of favourite singers and tunes.

You are very welcome! I do this often, so I'll definitely post more songs when they touch me in such a way that makes me want to share them. It's funny how you can hear a song over and over again and think nothing of it and then all of a sudden the words just speak to you...sometimes they scream at me, to listen to them.

Excellent discussion, itsmefaith. I'm going to pass on listening to the song. whistle ~I don't know why, but I didn't take you for a country fan.

Facing a 20 year wedding anniversary soon, I guess it does cross my mind now and then that I miss the newness of our relationship when all we wanted was time alone with each other.

Oh, and thanks for that potty training nudge... someday I'm going to long for the days of 'accidents', hmmmmm.

Really? Well, I'm an all kinds of music fan. Once on a road trip, I bought three CDs before leaving. Eminem, Tim McGraw, and AC/DC. Hee...if that tells you anything about my musical tastes. LOL...maybe not long for the accidents but long for the excitement on his face when he doesn't have one!
