When I Fall in Love  

I love this version. Nat King Cole died when Natalie was very young, and she wished so much to have known him. The only way she knew how to deal with that sense of abandonment I know she must have felt was to sing along with him via overdubbing. So, in a sense, she did get to know him.

And, yes, it is wonderful to be able to share this talent with my loved one. From the first time I heard her singing in her bedroom, when she didn't know I was listening, I knew I had to work with her vocally. She sang one way when we were practicing, but when she was just doing dishes or fixing her hair, she'd hum a tune. She's an dramatic soprano, and the discipline of her voice teachers can cause a loss of that sweetness that makes for the true performers. I don't know the word for it. It's like a "little girl innocense".

Thanks, I'll do that right away. And, yeh, following him is difficult, but I'm almost there. And remember, he did it while playing the piano, which is one heck of a trick. You know, his piano playing was also considered a "standard" for easy listening. I'm also a follower of Ferrente & Teicher - a great duo wherein I learned many of the stands.
