How many more cities around the world share the same name as yours?  

I think you find more coincidences when you look for names of European cities in the Americas and Australia. In places were inmigration and colonization was more important. Plus all the New something, New York, or New Jersey, while there is an "old" York or "old" Jersey

That is true. European countries in the Old World are the "pioneers" in 'discovering' new lands. Thus, naming them after something they know so as to be part of a 'civilized' world.

Well, I've been only in the Spanish Toledo. Nice place by the way. Very historical.

It would be interesting to go there one day, but I don't see it happening. I would much rather explore the states. I think THIS Toledo is a nice place to live, but there are many who wouldn't agree with me!! lol

There is also a Toledo here in the Philippines, though I've never been there. I won't be surprised if it was named after the one in Spain, considering that the country was under Spanish rule for hundreds of years.

You can be sure it is, and it is a very ancient town that Spanish Toledo. It was even capital of Hispania at the time of the Visigoths. I remember from there a nice cathedral, medieval bridge over the river and the castle.

It might be interesting to just look up the city of "Toledo" and see how many different places I find........maybe, one of these days!! lol
