How many more cities around the world share the same name as yours? |
| |
| I've been curious to check it and there are a few. 1 orignal Saragossa in Spain 1 more in Colombia, 3 in Mexico, 1 in Guatemala, 1 in El Salvador, 1 in the Philipines, and 1 more in Ecuatorial Guinea. So 8 more apart from the original one. It was common for the founder of the new settlements in the new world to give the place the name of their home town. That's why there are so many. | | | | | |

| | I think you find more coincidences when you look for names of European cities in the Americas and Australia. In places were inmigration and colonization was more important. Plus all the New something, New York, or New Jersey, while there is an "old" York or "old" Jersey | | | |

| | I live in Toledo, OH and I know there is a Toledo, Spain, that is pronounced a little differently. I think there are others in the states, but I really don't know of anywhere else. | | | | | | |

| | Well, I've been only in the Spanish Toledo. Nice place by the way. Very historical. | | | |

| | It would be interesting to go there one day, but I don't see it happening. I would much rather explore the states. I think THIS Toledo is a nice place to live, but there are many who wouldn't agree with me!! lol | | | |

| | There is also a Toledo here in the Philippines, though I've never been there. I won't be surprised if it was named after the one in Spain, considering that the country was under Spanish rule for hundreds of years. | | | |

| | You can be sure it is, and it is a very ancient town that Spanish Toledo. It was even capital of Hispania at the time of the Visigoths. I remember from there a nice cathedral, medieval bridge over the river and the castle. | | | |
