4 years?! I think it would be pretty evident after about 6 months that we were led down a very horrible path. If only people would wake up BEFORE the election... but maybe more are actually awake than are letting on? We can only hope!

Funny, My sister and I said the saem of McCain wins. Palin will kill him off with an "accidentral shooting" and then she will revert the country to the OLD WILD WEST. And Mcsame will do nothing to help the ecomony either. On fact presidents really do not have that much of an effect on the economy.

McCain's plan has better hopes of helping our economy than Obama's. Rob from the rich to give to the poor? And you expect the rich to be okay with that? What do you think will happen then? The rich will quit their jobs or move away, then we'll have no more rich to rob from, and no more high paying jobs. What will we do for doctors and lawyers then?

Who needs lawyers anyway?

And doctors used to make house calls and actually care about their patients more than the money they get paid; then we have professional athletes being paid millions...give everybody minimum wage and to hell with it.

Give everyone minimum wage? Obviously the remark of someone who did not pay thousands of dollars and spend years educating themselves to get a decent paying career to support themselves and their family.

Speaking of which, if we all made the same amount of money regardless of occupation, then what would be the sense in going to school to get a real career such as a computer programmer or teacher or nurse or anything of that nature? Nobody would do it!

That sort of thinking has never worked. It didn't work when Karl Marx tried it, it didn't work for Stalin. If it had worked for Castro we wouldn't have so many Cuban immigrants. Socialism isn't the answer. We're a democracy!

Anybody that becomes a doctor or a lawyer for the money they can make really shouldn't be in those professions in the first place. Of course, that's only my opinion...but to me, it's the only one that counts.

If McCain wins...God help us all! I pray that he lives another 4 years! Because the thought of Palin as president is enough to make me puke!!!!

Kats, I'm curious to know what your idea of "rich people" are. I see that you think nurses, school teachers, computer programmers are "good" jobs, at that rate then I am sure you would consider me rich, and you lose the bet because I am not going anywhere. But the thought of being a gazillionaire in some other country is a good thought.

It amazes me that most of the people that talk about the "idiotic tax plan" usually don't even know what tax bracket they fall into, moreless how either plan will effect them. A lot of people on mylot are moaning and groaning about how many posts it takes to make a 10 dollar payout and why their earnings dropped by 22 cents, which is an indicator to me that their economic intellect is worth about 2 cents.

For those that managed to survive the last 8 years, you should be able to handle the next 4 without a problem,no matter who wins, whats the worst that can happen? For me it would be McSame.

Educating yourself wouldn't cost as much if everyone made minimum wage for a start, and people might go for jobs they enjoy since they will make the same money regardless. Most of the people I associate with are getting further educated to do jobs they want to do, not because they will make more money. Are you trying to tell me that the people doing service jobs don't deserve to be on par with those that do other jobs? I would rather go to school to major in linguistics and minor in Japanese and German to make minimum wage in a career I will enjoy than work in a service job, even if that service job netted me MORE money and didn't make me go through schooling. My level of responsibility and work ethic wouldn't change under socialism, and it startles me how many people are doing jobs they don't want to do, that they went to school in order to do. Money can't buy happiness, and I dare say people need to learn that in our country.

MYK: You hit the nail on the head!!! "give everyone the minimum wage..." That's what the New Party wants -- they call it a "social wage". By the way, Obama is a member.
