Does anyone else think that whinny the pooh is not that great for children?  

I havent watched a Winnie the Pooh movie yet. But as a teacher, i would prefer my students to watch movies or programs that will really benefit them. Small things like that will really affect them. Adults need to be very careful with the movies they let their kids watch. As we know, a child's mind is like a sponge. they absorb everything they see and hear.

I don't think so. Young kids have a lot of learning capacity and they will make the difference between good and bad spelling. It's the same with language, kids can learn easily 2 or 3 languages when they are young and they won't mix them up. My cousin speaks 3 languages, he is 5 years old, and he is fluent in all 3, and does not mix them up. same goes for my son, even if he is too young to speak a lot, he answers to me in the language I speak to him and he makes the difference.

So I am sure it will be the same for your kid. they will make the difference between cartoons talk and "real" talk.

I have 8 kids, and I do not think that watching Winnie the Pooh was a bad thing for them. At that age they do not worry about spelling anyways. By the time they get into school and can start spelling they then correct the fact that they do not spell properly.

I don't think watching winnie the pooh is a bad thing either, as someone else has said, children are a sponge, and they absorb everything , and they do know right from wrong in spelling wise kinds of situations, and my 5 year old daughter tells me that there is a word spelt wrong on the movie, so she know's right from wrong in spelling wise, and she know's what words are right and wrong aswell. Maybe some parent's don't think that the movie suits their children, but it suits me just fine

Since children shouldn't be watching too much of any television or movie, I don't believe watching the occasional Winnie the Pooh program is going to do anything to any child.

Children who sit in front the tv, memorizing the same old program and not engaged with parents or other in the family instead, are likely to come away having picked up a few habits. If that's the case, though, that child and his parents have far bigger problems than what he picks up from a Winnie the Pooh program.

My kids watched the occasional "Winnie" movie, and they were years ahead of their age in spelling and reading and any number of other things. That's because a "Winnie" program only lasts a half hour, and that was because they never watched more than one or two half-hour programs (if that) a day.

I just think Winnie the Pooh is a cute, cute, character with his friends. Christopher Robin is a nice little boy who reminds me of my own nice little son, Christopher (now grown). There is a lot worse junk out there that little kids are watching these days, including the foolish Baby Einstein videos that are now said to slow down a baby's language learning.

I seriously doubt that I am the one who let my kids watch the occasional "Winnie" and still had kids who were years ahead of grade level, with their strongest abilities leaning toward spelling, writing, and reading.

I think Winnie the Pooh is one of the most loving and classic children's series ever. I think it teaches kids the value of friends and relationships, spelling and grammar be damned.I don't think young kids would even notice, and if you're worried about it, point it out, and use it as a learning experience. Please don't deny kids the joy of Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

Noggin is the best channel to let your kids watch, they are a pre-school channel,and All of their cartoons are educational.
Noggin does not show Winnie the pooh. However, there is NOTHING wrong with allowing your kids to watch winnie the pooh, not EVERY SINGLE cartoon HAS to be educational for kids to watch it, some cartoons were purely ment to entertain your kids and provide fun and enjoyment.... winnie the pooh being one example. Your kids will not notice the spelling or grammer!

i dont think its a bad idea to let children watch winnie the pooh just because of bad spelling.i think at the age they are watching this program they are more intrested in what is going on in the program.did you think that it does teach them to play nicely with other children and how to get along with others(eg rabbit being grumpy all the time)no matter how they are.it can also help them with ideas for there imaginary(not spelt right i dont so think anyway lol)play.did you ever play pooh sticks when you were younger?

I don’t really pay attention to Winnie the Pooh and my daughter doesn’t watch it, but I do understand. My daughter has a few Rugrats books. Lol, she has never watched the show, but does have books. Even in the books, things are spelled and pronounced wrong. Like, I think Thanksgiving was something like Wanksgiving. Right now, I only read to my daughter, so I make sure I pronounce the words right. But, when she gets to the point of reading, I will probably get rid of the book.
