I'm loving these new upgrades!  | |  I was really disappointed with ChaCha's last bout of upgrades. It took away our ability to decline questions, and at first we didn't have a chance to set ourselves to away between incoming questions. They added the away checkbox a week or two after the upgrade started, but in the meantime we were being penalized for exiting out of questions if we wanted to get off of the Universe.
I just logged into the Universe for the first time in a few days. I was really confused at first, because I wasn't getting any questions at all. It turns out that it was because ChaCha has activated the categories and interests thing. Guides need to enter their categories and interests to receive questions now.
I spent about half an hour choosing categories that I'm familiar with, as well as a few that I know will bring me questions I can answer with little difficulty. I had to log into the Universe again before I could get any questions at all, but as soon as I did I had my first specialized question!
Oh my gosh, I love it. We can see the questions before we accept them. We have a decline button if we don't want to enter the question session. And, best of all, it tells us exactly why we're receiving a question and shows the category it's directed to! Plus, if you don't accept fast enough, it will release the question to another Guide like the old system used to do.
This is definitely an improvement to the system. I'm really excited to see how well it matches questions to Guides' interests. They do say that it's possible to get Generalist questions in times with high traffic, but all of the ones I've received so far have been related to my new interests.
If any of the Guides who hang out here need help setting up their categories and interests, please let me know. I'd love to help you take advantage of this great new feature!

I was wondering how many categories/ interests you have chosen?
I chose quiet a few but didnt know if I should chose more....
I also wanted to ask if you use more then 1 spelling... well not spelling but my example. I used Playstation 3 & 2 for that matter as one of my interest/categories. But what I did is put in PS2 and then Playstation 2 (and same with 3) should I change that & remove 1 of them or does it matter? I figured if someone typed in PS2 it would direct it towards me... the same as Playstation 2 typed out make since?
I am STILL waiting on my 10 sample questions/ test and have emailed them asking them what I should do. I can not access the forum either. it just errors out on me.
Getting frustrated but would LOVE to get in so I keep trying!! lol.

 summoneddestiny (291) | 1 year ago | I have no idea how many categories I have. I just kept adding keywords as I thought of them. I probably have several hundred now. (Yes, I'm crazy. :P)
I have a few variations on keywords in there. I actually did the exact same thing with PlayStation 2 and PS2, PlayStation 3 and PS3, and so on. Some of them, I tried using plural variants, like putting both Forecast and Forecasts under weather.
Try adding weather keywords, and doing a few under definitions. I've had nothing but back to back questions asking for weather, word definitions, baby name meanings, and movie information this morning. I started out at about 26 total for the week, and I just passed 60. It's crazy! I think I'm actually going to make Top Guide next week with no problems! LOL
You know, now that I think about it my referral had problems with the forum at first, too. I think it resolved itself after a few days, but it's still frustrating. I'll have to get in touch with her and see if she did anything special to get that taken care of. | |

I am going to go add baby name meanings & weather stuff.. never thought of it to be honest lol.
I think I have movies covered... From types to actors to particular names lol. I love movies LOL.
Oo and pregnancy things I added in those too... hoping someone would ask lol.
I was trying to think of things I would ask lol.
Oh and I set up chacha on my cell phone already too lol. I have had so many times when I wanted to know something but could not get my stupid web to come up for some reason or another (google used to work but now it doesnt LOL) SOOO now I can just text a chacha guide;-) | |

Someone needs to make a general list of terms so we can all quickly add things off of it,and spark ideas for our interests. I've only had very sporadic queries this week, and all of them were Generalist. I think I was averaging maybe one question every five minutes, if that. I didn't log on last night, but I've already got 55 questions answered this week. Now I have two days in a row off, so I'm planning to do what I can to knock out the 200 questions I need to make Top Guide this week. :) | |
