Let's Talk About ME!

i like to ignore them as there are many around me. in my office everyone is self important most of them just go on saying things about them. they don't even want listeners . they just love to talk about themselves.

Well there is my step-mother. She is a one-upper. Whatever you have done, she has either done it also but better or she has done it but she didn't like it or some such thing.

yes i had acquiantances that are like that, they just want to talk about themselves and nothing else! but i just ignore because there are just people like that, its part of nature

oh man i hate people like that. I dont hang around those type of people, but what do u do when your husbands family is like that all stuck on themselves. Im in a horrible mess here pikey, help me out.

I really can say that I don't know many, if any, people like that P1ke.

That is to not to say that my friends and acquaintances don't discuss themselves, but they don't make themselves overly important and they aren't self-centered like you describe.

I don't think that I'd want a person like that for a friend. There's only so much a person can take about "How important I am," and the like.

I have a friend that won't even let anyone else talk. She might ask how I am doing, yet she doesn't want to know.. she buts right in and starts to tell me about her. Then when I try again, she she still won't let me get a word in edgewise. I don't call her much because she doesn't want a two way conversation.

LOL! yes, I have a friend Jean who is just like that, its all me me me, she went on holiday and has been back for a month and I still have not heard from her, so I decided to give her a call to make a appointment for my hair as she is my har dresser, she was going on about her hoilday and then telling me that they are still trying to sell their house and got an offer but they haven't found one, and the she tells me she'l call be back before I had a chance to speak and she never did I'm still waiting for her to call me, some friend. oh yes I do p1ke..all he say is me,myself and I am...it is infuriating especially when he doesn't bother to ask how I am...still thankfully he is a friend I only talk to occasionally..but even then cut it short!! hugs littleowl

You have just touched on one of my biggest pet peeves, P1ke! I know a few people like this. I deal with it as long as I can, but after a while, I have to just walk away, figuratively and literally.

Speaking of, have you ever heard this song? I doubt you're a country music fan, but this is the perfect song to describe this type of person. It's fun, too! I hope you can tolerate it long enough to listen once, hee!
