Wow, it is good to have wonderful neighbours  | |  I just recently got a knock on my door. It was the lady I helped out weeks ago. This lady had a bit of a car accident at her home and ran the car into a block of units. At the time, I was sitting on my computer thinking, "what is going on?"
I raced outside to see that a lady in her crashed car calling out. So I raced into the house, grabbed my keys and raced out locking my front door. In all this time, I was the first one to get to her. I would have had to run at least 50 metres to get to her.
Today, as I said, she knocked on my door to thank me for getting over to her first. She said that she couldn't believe that her neighbours only metres away didn't go to her assistance and it was some one across the road that came to her.
She have me a thank you card and with a lottery pack inside to say thank you. I feel so happy that I had made a small difference in her life.
I would like to hear more stories where it wasn't much but some one thought a lot about it.

 cookie1971 (1951) | 1 year ago | thank you. Yes I did it because she need some one to help her. I didn't do it to get any thing back. It was just in my nature to just help her. I am that type of person. We all need to keep an eye out and help our elderly neighbours when needed.
I certainly did not expect anything in return. One thing for sure, I would do it again for any one. | |

A few months back now someone right around the corner from us was really, really screaming and you just knew that person was in pain and it was like 1am in the morning and I got up and I called the police and went out the front and my husband was like don't you dare go there and even the Police Officer on the phone tell me that I was not to go near them because all though I could hear the woman screaming the Policemen said that he could have stabbed he or anything and if I went there he might end up stabbing me! But I was like I can't just stand here and do nothing I can hear this woman screaming but anyway the Police arrived pretty quick and delt with it and it turned out that they had had a party and had a fight and kicked one of them out and when the one that was leaving in a car another one came over to the car still fighting and they ran her over!!!!!
So yes your neighbour was lucky that someone cared enough to go and help her coz these days like I said not many would!
