Has anyone had luck with Training Pants? |
|
We used to do the cloth diaper thing, but now that the little guy is in school, it is no longer realistic. On the other hand it is time to start thinking about potty training and using cloth diapers or training pants is supposed to help speed up that process. We have been using the training pants, but basically every time he pees he overflows the training pants and soaks everything around him. It seems like it would be just as usefull to just not wear a diaper at all and let him wet his pants as that is what it amounts to now. Has anyone had luck with the traiing pants? I may just line the training pants with an extra cloth diaper and see if that works.

2. kaui_808 (102) | 1 year ago | My son is 6 mos potty training will be creeping up on us too! I've been asking around and getting ones feedback as well, and the concensus seems to be let 'em free. Everyone has told me that about 2 yrs, when you think your toddler is ready, to just give it a week or two and let 'em go without anything. They say they'll usually just get the hang of it. Boys easier than girls, simple because it's a lot more fun.
Some ways to get them going is to let them see you do it, girls with Mom, boys with Dad, obviously, so they know exactly what they're suppose to be doing. I've also heard about putting floating toys like a rubber ducky in the toilet to help your young man practice his aim. Their suppose to encourage potty training and keep your bathroom cleaner. We all know what it's like cleaning up after those who already claim to be potty trained, we might as well give our little men as much practice now, as we can! And if your worried about it flushing down with you know what, there are also heat sensitive targets you can affix to the bowl called "wee targets". As your little one get's his aim down the heat from his pee reveals a picture on the target. Anything to make our lives easier, right!
Good Luck and keep us updated!

4. SViswan (4201) | 1 year ago | I haven't tried the training pants...but I've been thinking of trying it. My older one was potty trained quite early and I didn't have much trouble. He even refused to go in a diaper which I put on when we were travelling. My younger one turns two next week...and he has started telling us most of the time when he needs to use the toilet. He goes to school in a diaper...but at home, I use clth diapers. But he's uncomfortable in those and pulls of the shorts and the diapers andis walking around naked most of the time. Even though he does tell us now, there are instances when he goes a bit in his pants and that is why I wanted to try out the training pants for school. The sooner he is out of a diaper, the better (diapers are expensive here). I think your idea of an extra cloth diaper might be better. Try it and let me know how that goes.
