Cleaning my plastic bowl |
| |
| I have this nice big white plastic bowl that I occasionally use to mix cake batter or cookie dough in, but mostly I use it for my popcorn..After I pop the corn, I spray some oil and add salt..I wash it every time, but this last time, I saw what looked like mold spots..I don't know if this is from the oil and not washing it right away, but I did soak it in bleach water hoping to remove the spots.. Other than maybe soaking it longer in bleach water, is there anything else I can do? And what can I do to prevent it from happening again, like washing right away after use.. | | | | | |

| | If you have a dishwasher can put it in there. Other then that I guess washing it right away will do it, or if not right away just dont wait very long, like the next day or something. | | | | | | |

| | Lol yeah that was me before my parents got a dishwasher, I was also the remote for the tv before they got one with a remote lol. Hmm thats weird that it would get mold that fast then. Do you live where its really humid? | | | |

| | No, I am in Ohio and even this summer was more mild than usual. I love popcorn and make it often. The last time I made it was about 4 days ago, and then again yesterday. I didn't notice the spots on it yesterday when I went to put the popcorn in. It wasn't until this morning that I noticed it from when my daughter washed it last night.. | | | |

| | I got the same exact thing in our plastic pitcher we use for Kool-Aid or Crystal Light. No matter how much scrubbing you do, those spots don't come out. Therefore, I just resign it that if I wash it out with anti-bacterial soap, it should be just fine. | | | | | | |

| | I also get that on my kool aid pitchers, but that is what I thought was stained from the color of the koolaid. This bowl in the last few weeks has only held popcorn and I am afraid that somehow the oil has caused mold to grow on it.. | | | |

| | Hmmm very strange indeed. My pitchers for kool-aid have done this and I have soaked them in pure bleach and then left them sit overnight with water in them to rinse it extremely well. Wouldn't hurt to try I guess. Good Luck | | | | | | |
