I would be scared that something would go wrong on it and end up costing me more money. That car sounds like it wouldn't be too bad though and like it has been taken pretty good care of.

13. sid556 (10690) | 1 year ago | I am actually driving a car right now that is 12 years old and it is awesome! I got a great deal on it and to be honest...it is the newest and best car i've ever had. love it. I have never owned a new car. i buy 2nd hand cars really cheap and hope to gd they last me the year until income tax time. I have been very lucky and most of my junks will last 2 to 3 years. Some have lasted up to 6 yrs. The point is that I don't have a car payment and I never pay more than a few hundred for them. it works for me. Good luck with you good find!

sid556 (10690) | 1 year ago | That's the beauty of it...no car payments and you own it. For what I pay for my cars, I figure if they last me the year, I'll just get another one when income tax comes around if needed. If it is worth it, I put a little money into it and keep it up to par and you really can't beat it. Good luck with yours.

14. mariposaman (2506) | 1 year ago | I guess it depends on how proud you are. Some people are ashamed of being broke so they get more broke by buying stuff they cannot afford. So you will have to ask yourself do you want some vehicle that is dependable and gets you from point A to point B or do you want to show off in a fancy new car and look cool.
By the way I never have been able to afford a new car and I don't see any in my near future either. My car is a 1995 Ford Taurus, in good shape too.

17. stephcjh (22758) | 1 year ago | Yes. I sure would if it was in good shape. My Mustang Gt is a 2000, so it is 8 years old now. It is still in really good shape. It runs and drives very good and also looks very good too.

18. saundyl (4318) | 1 year ago | Yep i would and a i have. ive had three cars in my driving life...one a dodge neon 2000 (coolest birthday gift ever) another dodge neon - 2002 (replaced the 2000 off the lot insurance paid for it after an accident witha bus) and the one i remember the most fondly and still wish i had on occasion.. my 1970 Chyrsler New yorker. It was a big old boat that i loved driving - even better cause it was so big my sisters were embarassed to ride in it with me so i didnt have to tote them all over the place. I have some awesome memories of that car.
Including a friend closing the door and as she did the interior panel came off the door (it did that so i didnt freak - it was only a 200 dollar car) shes like omg i just broke your door and i was like oh dont worry put it ont he backseat i'll put it back on in the morning. She still talks about that.

19. moonlitmagikchild (7149) | 1 year ago | i prefer newer cars ONLY because i grew up poor and my family had all old cars and they literally broke down every time we rode in them.. all of them!! so going to the store for groceries we would never know if the car would start afterwards and it was so stressing that i dont want anything over like 5-10 years old or much over 100,000 miles because im convinced they will be like that even though i know thats not always the case.. i just dont have the money to keep fixing a car if it becomes like that
